Mika & Helen had a great day today sharing some Brazilian Drumming with the members of the Staffordshire Sight Loss Association, hosted by the fantastic team at the Mitchell Arts Centre 🔵🟢🟡🥁

🎶 A huge thank you to Staffordshire Sight Loss Association for coming along today to our drumming workshop with ART BRASIL🥁💃 It was a fantastic event full of rhythm, noise, and energy — we loved every second of it!

🐾 A special shoutout to Jack the Lad, one of the participants amazing guide dogs 🐕‍🦺 — not only did he help out beautifully, but he also tried to join in with the drumming (we think he is a natural! 😂❤️).

Thanks again to everyone who made it so special!

To say ART BRASIL are regulars at King Street Studios would be an understatement, we’ve been lucky enough to hear the funky sounds of samba shaking the walls at least once a week for over a decade!

From Brazilian dance and yoga to capoeira, hand drumming and carnival beats, this amazing group brings serious energy to the studio and the local community.

We've had a brilliant time working with Newman Collegiate primary pupils at St Wilfrid's Tunstall and St Peter's Cobridge over the last two weeks. Exploring Samba Drumming with all pupils from Nursery to Year 6, who've all been fantastic 👏👏👏

Using a range of drums, we use a different drum set up with Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to best support their musical skills and development. Looking forward to visiting both schools again in the near future for more drumming fun!

Wow what an AMAZING day yesterday was here in Stoke-on-Trent! A true celebration of community and pride in our wonderfully cultural city 🎉

Thanks to Stoke Creates, Urban Wilderness CIC and all the PEOPLE'S PARADE teams for creating such a brilliant event. It was an honour and pleasure to be part of it! 🩵

We're so looking forward to this amazing event happening tomorrow, and seeing our friends from Restoke in the People's Parade - plus KiLNE, Madula, Urban Wilderness CIC, B-Arts, Kwanzaa Collective UK and many many more, all organised by the wonderful Stoke Creates 👏

🥁You'll find us drumming outside the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, where we'll play for the half way point of the parade.

This is going to be the biggest and best parade we've seen in the city for a long time - not to be missed!

Restoke puts the people of Stoke-on-Trent at the heart of creative adventures. They make performances, plan events and run workshops alongside people who may not usually meet, forming new bonds of friendship, understanding and solidarity in the city. For the People’s Parade, Restoke commissioned local artist Isabella Morse-Pickard to create flags and costumes inspired by Stoke-on-Trent’s green and blue spaces. Children from Restoke's creative dance sessions will be performing in the parade alongside some woodland creatures who also like to dance...
