Our Story
I’m passionate about making yoga accessible for all, and love sharing simple practices and techniques you can use every day to make a real difference to your health and wellbeing. Each class is a special time, an opportunity for you to slow down, let go of all effort and strain, and relax into softness. In a world that often feels too harsh and too rushed, returning to flowing, organic movement, following your breath, releasing tension, physically, mentally and emotionally, leads you naturally to a relaxed place where you can restore balance and calm, re-energising and reclaiming your natural state of being, at ease in yourself and your surroundings.
Dru yoga has its roots in traditional yoga, which has been practiced for thousands of years, and includes classical yoga postures (asanas), pranayama (breathwork), mudras (gestures), positive affirmations, empowering visualisations, and powerful, flowing sequences. Its emphasis is on gentle flowing movement, maintaining soft joints with awareness of the breath, allowing free-flow of subtle energy. In Dru yoga, all movements originate from the spine, because a flexible, healthy spine supports your entire yoga practice; the spinal waves and spinal twist, core features of Dru, enhance spinal health and vitality. Dru yoga works to balance the chakras (energy centres of the body) and access the powerful energy of the heart. Within the flow of movement, Dru yoga creates powerful moments of stillness, which we call “Dru points”. Dru comes from the Sanskrit word, Dhruva, which refers to the stillness that can be experienced in Dru yoga and Dru meditation, from where we can act from a point of clarity and inner calm.

Since then I’ve coninued exploring and learning, through teaching and through more in depth courses in back care, Ayurveda, Ayurvedic massage, meditation, engaging with local community groups, as well as assisting on teacher training courses in the Midlands. My classes are continually evolving to reflect this increased depth of knowledge, completing an Advanced Practitioners Diploma in 2018, and still learning and growing! ...
