There’s something special swimming into one of our homes 🐟💙

We’ve recently introduced a brand new fish tank, and it’s already making a big impact on the young people in our care. Since arriving, it’s become part of the boys’ morning routine, heading downstairs to watch, feed, and spend time with their new fish.

The calming effect has been incredible to see. The boys are mesmerised by their new pets, taking real pride in caring for them and enjoying those quiet moments to start the day.

Moments like these might seem small, but they play a huge role in supporting emotional wellbeing, building routine, and encouraging responsibility.

It’s amazing what a difference something as simple as a fish tank can make 💙

When the storm hit, our team showed exactly what Inspire is all about.

Last week, as high winds and heavy snow swept through the area, our staff and young people came together in the heart of the home. Mattresses were moved, films were queued up, games came out — and what could have been a frightening night turned into a calm, safe and even joyful one.

At Inspire, Christmas is about more than just one day; it’s about giving young people the childhood moments they may never have had.

In this Christmas Eve video, Home Manager John Lewis explains why Christmas in the home matters so deeply. Some of the young people haven’t experienced a traditional Christmas before, maybe just one present, or never being settled in a home for Christmas at all.

That’s why our teams come together to make it magical. Santa’s footprints up the stairs, decorations in every room, a Santa’s grotto built just for them, and even Jon stepping in to eat six mince pies for Santa, one for each child. “I never expected a job to be this much fun.” – Charni, Support Worker

Just three months into her role at Inspire, Charni already knows she’s found something special.

From the morning routine of getting young people up and ready for school to quieter moments once the house is reset, the real magic happens when the young people come home. Afternoons are about being present, having fun, getting out into the community, and creating memories every child deserves.

Charni’s highlight so far? A fully festive day out to meet Santa on a train ride – Christmas outfits, Christmas music, and plenty of excitement from start to finish. A day she’ll never forget, and one that meant the world to the young people.

🎄✨ Christmas has officially arrived at Grace House! ✨🎄

Our team has been busy getting the house ready for the festive season, decorating every corner with our young people and preparing for the most magical visitor of all, Santa!

We realised we didn’t have a fireplace for Santa to come down, so a Team Leader, another staff member, and our young people came together to build a very special one, just for Santa! Let’s hope he doesn’t get stuck on the way down. 🎅🔥

This year is extra special because 2 of our young people will be celebrating their first Christmas at Grace House. We can’t wait to make it truly memorable, full of laughter, joy, and festive cheer for all the children in our care.
