Last weekend we had our annual visit from The Farm On Wheels for our monthly Family Fun session. We are grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund, which allows us to provide these experiences for the children and their families 💜

Today is a bumper here at the Peter Pan Centre!

Firstly our long-term supporter Phil Steele organised his own golf and silver drive to collect unwanted watches, broken jewellery and other items from family, friends, colleagues and patrons of The Greyhound Inn Penkhull In total he raised £2,632! 😀

Next up, amb insurance services ltd made their trip to Aintree a fundraising event in itself, raising £2,000 from the generosity of staff and clients attending the races. Big thanks goes to Rydale Roofing Ltd and WBS Scaffolding for helping us reach this target with your significant donations 💜

Last week we also had several members of the North Staffs Knights Chapter and Roll of Honour Assembly of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes Grand Lodge visit the centre to present several cheques totalling £1,000 to be used to support our children and families. Wow! 🥳

Claire also made a trip across to where the amazing staff and families took part in our Storython for a second year running and raised a fantastic £809, something we are so grateful for. They are an amazing nursery that have worked closely with us in the past and some of our children successfully transition to mainstream nursery there!

And last but not in the very least Catherine and Claire went on a site visit to Assurant in Tunstall to meet the Social Committee who have chosen the Peter Pan Centre as their Charity of the Year, aiming to raise £5,000 so that we can continue to deliver our range of services to give children with SEND the very best start in life. It was a wonderful tour and we can't thank the staff enough for their time and enthusiasm.

What an amazing community we have around us, joining together to give our families the support they deserve on their SEND Early Years journeys 🫶

Attention all Peter Pan parents, families and past graduate parents too! We have an exciting announcement by one of our Trustees as she introduces the new Peter Pan Parents and Friends Association 😀 Read all about Katrina and how to get involved 💜

Hi everyone! 👋

For those of you who haven’t met me yet, I’m Katrina, and this is my daughter Meliah 💕 I’m Parent Trustee here at the Peter Pan Centre, which means I represent parents’ voices on the Board of Trustees – and also help keep parents informed about what’s happening at the centre.

Meliah has a very rare genetic condition which affects her development alongside a number of other challenges. She attended Peter Pan from 2016–2018, and the support we received during that time meant so much to our family. When she left the Centre, I was invited to join the board, and I’ve been a trustee ever since because I really wanted to help Peter Pan continue to support other families like ours 💛

With that in mind, I’m so excited to share that we’ve now set up a Parents and Friends of Peter Pan Association (PFA)! It’s been a long time coming, and I’m really glad it’s finally become a reality. We’d absolutely love for you to get involved. One of the most important things you can give us is your feedback – your views help shape what Peter Pan does and how it grows.

I’m a busy mum of four myself, so I promise it won’t take up too much of your time! 😂 We’re hoping to meet (where possible) just once a term, focusing on sharing feedback on developments or changes, helping bring families together, and supporting Peter Pan’s amazing work through fundraising. And please don’t worry — you can be involved as much or as little as works for you. Past and present families welcome!

Today is a 'Fundraiser Spotlight' 🔦 post to celebrate Chris Flynn of Giliker Flynn Independent Wealth Ltd and his incredible team, who we mentioned in our previous post last week. What started as a personal visit to the centre with his wife Fran several years ago has grown from a family commitment to supporting our children and families to a business-wide calendar of events raising essential funds! Chris and the team have been responsible for securing tens of thousands of pounds as well as being key organisers of, and volunteers for, our annual charity Golf Day. 2026 is their biggest year yet for funds raised, which with Gift Aid and in-kind support is actually well over £5,000.

We can't thank you all enough - you make life brighter for the hundreds of young children with SEND who access our services whilst helping their parents move forward with greater confidence, understanding and hope for their child’s future. 💜

This partnership shows what’s possible when businesses and charities come together, and Claire welcomes conversations with other organisations who want to create meaningful impact alongside us. Working with the PeterPan Centre for Children with Special Needs could be the start of something truly special, so get in touch!

One of our long-term supporters Chris Flynn of Giliker Flynn Independent Wealth Ltd is taking himself very much out of his comfort zone and participating in a boxing match tomorrow evening to raise funds for the Peter Pan PeterPan Centre for Children with Special Needs. We are so grateful for his support and taking on such a huge challenge. A huge goes out to for inviting Peter Pan staff Claire and Catherine to the Grand National on Saturday. It was a wonderful day and summed up everything that Team amb are all about - generosity, commitment, enthusiasm and fun!
