We are not very good at marketing what we do! Mainly because we’re so busy, but this month we are aiming to get out website to be much more detailed and include more about the services we offer: including an exciting new service!
In the mean time we’ll do some posts to let you know a bit more about what treatments help with what.
Today is about the amazing FOCUSED SHOCKWAVE device!!
This bit of kit is amazing. We have had our Storz T top focused shockwave device in clinic now for 5 years and we would not be without it.
What does it do?
Uses high intensity sound waves in a very focused manner that we direct into specific tissue to regenerate cells and repair. This reduces pain and accelerates recovery.
Diagnosis of a problem comes first and then we can assess if focused shockwave is an appropriate treatment.
Whats it good for?
Persistent/stubborn/chronic pain -
Either from injury and overuse eg to tendons, muscles or ligaments or damage from conditions such as osteoarthritis (OA) or bone injuries (stress fractures or oedema).
It is a specialist treatment provided by a practitioner with advanced training.
What are the most common conditions that we treat with FSW?
Heel pain (plantarfasciitis)
Achilles tendonitis
Osteoarthritis - knee, thumb, hip, low back, big toe.
Trigger finger
Tennis/golfers elbow
Hip bursitis (greater trochentaric pain syndrome)
Wrist tendinitis
