Yesterday I spent a very enjoyable day at a water colour painting workshop. I’m learning lots of new styles and techniques so that I can honour my creative skills.
Honouring my creative side isn’t just a hobby. It’s how I express myself. When I paint, write, dream, make, I’m not “being productive” — I’m listening. I’m letting Spirit move through my hands and remind me who I am beneath the roles, the duties, for many years my creative side was put to one side with all the demands of family life, work life etc. having the grandchildren and being able to sit with them and explore painting has been a fantastic way for me to wake up my creativity.
I’ve noticed a real growth in my feel good factor iver this last year.
A lack of creative expression ( and we all having differing g ways of expressing that ) can feel like restlessness, bitterness, that quiet ache that says something is missing.
What’s missing is devotion to the part of you that speaks in colour, rhythm, story, intuition.
Creativity can be seen as prayer time. It’s how the unseen becomes seen. It’s how healing sneaks in through beauty and the quiet flow of energetics magic.
If you’ve been feeling dull, disconnected, or stuck consider if it’s not because you need fixing.
But rather because your creative self is waiting to be invited back to the fore.
Create. Not to be liked. Not to be perfect.
Create because your inner self is asking to be heard.
