I truly think there’s a huge lack of support for women in early pregnancy.

Social media often shows the glowing bump, gender reveals and aesthetic side of pregnancy… but not always the isolation, mental load, physical exhaustion, anxiousness or feeling completely unlike yourself during the first trimester.

Early pregnancy symptoms can feel incredibly overwhelming and many women spend weeks Googling whether what they’re experiencing is “normal”.

If early pregnancy has felt harder than you expected, you are absolutely not alone 🤍

Comment below something that really took over during your early pregnancy to help other women feel seen/heard too.

Your baby doesn’t just need to fit through the pelvis… the pelvis needs SPACE to move too 👶🏼

Different birth positions can help open different areas of the pelvis during labour and birth.

Think:• upright, forward and open positions• movement and gravity• knees together, feet apart to help open the pelvic outlet

Birth was never designed for us to stay flat on a bed the entire time.

Understanding how to work WITH your body during labour can make such a difference 🤍

Are you terrified of birth?
You are not alone.

Most women grow up hearing horror stories, seeing dramatic births on TV and never actually being taught what’s happening to the body during labour.

Fear often comes from the unknown.

Because when you understand birth physiology, your options, how to support your body and how to stay calm during labour… things start to feel very different.

That’s exactly why I created my midwife-led hypnobirthing & birth education course 🤍

Comment HYPNOBIRTHING and I’ll send you the details.

There’s so much talk about foods that can “start labour”, especially dates and pineapple 🍍

But what’s actually true?

Dates, when eaten from around 36 weeks, may support cervical ripening, and are linked with a potentially more supported labour process.

Pineapple is often mentioned due to bromelain, an enzyme thought to help soften tissue, but realistically, the amounts needed for any real effect are quite large.

So instead of thinking “what will start labour”, think: what can support my body as it prepares for birth naturally? Comment Hypno for more info on birth ed and hypnobirthing my course.

Fear impacts going into labour naturally 👀
Yep, more than people realise.
Everyone talks about spicy food, walking, pineapple and dates… but labour is hormonal.

Oxytocin (your labour hormone) works best when you feel calm, safe and relaxed 🤍

So if you’re stressed, fearful or leaving birth prep until the last minute, your body can stay in a stress response instead of supporting oxytocin release.

This is why birth education, hypnobirthing and your environment matter SO much during pregnancy and labour.

Preparing for labour isn’t just physical, it’s mental too!

If you want to feel calmer, safer and more confident heading into birth, comment “HYPNO”.

Can curb-walking help induce labour naturally? 👀

What is curb walking? It’s when you walk with one foot on the curb and one on the road — creating an asymmetrical pelvis.

The idea is it may:
✨ Encourage better baby positioning
✨ Create more pelvic space on one side
✨ Support engagement (not force labour)

We often hear “baby is too big to fit”, but in many cases it’s actually about position, not size.

With the amount of sitting we do nowadays, our bodies spend far less time in natural asymmetry and movement than they used to.

So while curb walking won’t induce labour, it may support optimal positioning, which can help labour progress more efficiently.

Raspberry leaf tea in pregnancy… does it actually do anything? 👀🌿

You might’ve heard it can help induce labour or get things moving faster, but that’s not quite right.

It won’t start labour naturally, but what it may do is support uterine tone, which can help your body work a little more efficiently once labour begins.

If you’re going to try it, a gentle guide is usually:
🌿 32 weeks — 1 cup a day
🌿 34 weeks — 2 cups a day
🌿 36–37 weeks — 3–4 cups a day

Bonus: it actually makes a really nice refreshing iced drink too 👌

Spicy food to start labour? 🌶️
It might irritate your gut and possibly stimulate the uterus in some people, but there’s no strong evidence it actually works.

So before you load up on chilli, just be aware that you might only get cramps (not contractions) 😅

Labour is clever, not chilli-driven!

Can walking help induce labour naturally?
Not in the way most people think.

It’s less about starting labour and more about supporting your body to get into a better position for it to begin on its own.

Gravity helps, movement keeps your hips mobile and gentle walking can support baby finding a good position. The key is not overdoing it, and making sure you rest when your body needs it.

Don’t forget that It’s not about forcing labour. It’s about working with your body as it prepares in its own time.

Can ni**le stimulation actually induce labour naturally? 👀

Short answer, it can play a role for some women at term.

It works by encouraging the release of oxytocin, the hormone that helps contractions become more regular and effective during labour.

You may sometimes hear of women using hand expression or a breast pump in the final weeks, which may encourage labour, as well as collecting colostrum at the same time.

A few important things to know:
✨ It’s not suitable for everyone
✨ Usually discussed from 37 weeks in low-risk pregnancies
✨ From around 36 weeks in some diabetic pregnancies

Like all natural induction methods, timing and safety matter just as much as the method itself 💛

Always check in with your care provider before trying anything to encourage labour.
