This unique co=produced workshop will explore Emetophobia from two perspectives. Firstly, Craig Thompson will outline current evidence-based practice in relation to cognitive behavioural treatment of Emetophobia. Secondly, Ella and Polly will share their personal stories of Emetophobia, their treatment and their ongoing recovery.

The Northern Centre for Psychological Therapies Training believes there is great value in learning from this dual perspective, combining theory and expert knowledge from individuals with lived experience.

The aim of the workshop is to provide participants with an improved sense of confidence and competence when working with Emetophobia. The workshop format will be very interactive and there will be lots of opportunities for dialogue and shared learning.
Continuing professional development (CPD) certificates will be issued to participants.

New training course available!

Mastering Behavioural Interventions in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Length: 1 Day
Cost: £80
Date: Tuesday 14th June 2022
Time: 9.30am-4.30pm (Online)
Facilitated by: Craig Thompson (Director of Training)

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can be a challenging presentation for even the most experienced of CBP practitioners. Research has long suggested that behavioural interventions in OCD are the most effective component of treatment. This workshop explores the respective roles of exposure and response prevention and contemporary positions on behavioural experiments in the provision of effective therapy.

The workshop aims to support practitioners to develop their technical competence (mastery) and confidence in the correct use of behavioural interventions in OCD. It will be a skills focussed workshop with contributions from and expert by experience.

We are committed to including those with lived experience of mental health disorders in the creation and delivery of our training.

This gives us the opportunity to explore treatment from the perspective of service users and helps us understand how we can tailor treatment to individuals. We think this is crucial in helping our trainees develop their cultural competence and to bridge gaps between practitioners and clients.
