September is Sepsis Awareness Mont

Sepsis is common in the UK, affecting an estimated 245,000 people each year and causing tens of thousands of deaths. It leads to around 5 deaths every hour and kills more people than breast, bowel, and prostate cancers combined. Sepsis begins with an infection, but it can happen to anyone and is not always hospital-acquired; it requires immediate attention to improve the chances of survival.
