An uplift is one of my most frequently performed operations. This involves reducing excess skin, without significantly reducing the size of the breast. This achieves three things: 1. A higher ar**la position, 2. A rounder shape, 3. Shorter distance from the ar**la to the crease with less overhang of tissue at the crease.
AUTO-AUGMENTATION:
The is an adjunct procedure that I usually perform as well as the uplift operation. It is basically a procedure to move natural tissue into the cleavage and try to reduce the risk of significant re-sagging. No implants are used, just natural breast tissue.
Rather than just removing skin and not really adjusting the deeper tissue in any way (i.e. a normal uplift operation), with an auto-augmentation the deep tissue is reshaped to move volume from an undesirable location (usually lower outer part of the breast) into a more desirable location (the cleavage and upper pole).
Similar to implant augmentation surgery, the breast requires time to settle for a few weeks. Some of the tissue drops and gives a more natural lower pole fullness but with this technique, more tissue can be retained in the upper pole, with the aim of providing longer term uplifted results
