I have worked in the charitable sector, independent fostering sector and for local authorities since qualifying. Much of my work has been with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma. I have also supported school staff, residential staff, CSC and foster carers/adoptive parents to help meet the needs of their CYP and with their own struggles that might impact how they support their CYP. I have worked individually and with small groups in a therapeutic capacity. I have been part of projects working with gender identity, ethnic minority communities, setting up and running a therapeutic service for adults who have experienced domestic abuse and overseeing a therapeutic service for CYP who have experienced traumatic bereavement and sexual abuse. I provide clinical supervision to therapists, trainee therapists, educational psychologists, advisory teachers and both therapeutic and non-therapeutic staff teams who need to maintain their resilience e.g. I am registered with BAAT and HCPC and am an Approved Supervisor for PTUK. I have my own insurance to practice, am on the DBS update service and am registered with the ICO. My GDPR statement will be provided as part of our contracting, should we begin work together. I have previously been an independent panel member for a fostering agency and am currently a trustee and governor for a local SEMH school setting. I previously was a leader for Brownie and Rainbows units within Girl Guiding UK for 10 years and have also been a volunteer with St John Ambulance in the past.

🌳I love driving through scenery like this! 🌳

There is something comforting and containing particularly when you don't encounter anyone else and the sunlight breaks through the sheltering trees, gently adding some warming light to the journey β˜€οΈβ˜ΊοΈ

🌟 Networking events update 🌟

Hello allπŸ‘‹

Just a quick post to let you know that our networking events will be put on hold for the foreseeable future as I've no longer got the availability to run them. πŸ˜”

I hope to review this in the new year and will keep you updated. πŸ˜‰

Please enjoy this sunset in the meantime πŸ‘‡πŸ€£

Sometimes, all we can do is just ride the wave and see where it takes us...🌊

I feel a bit like that at the minute with my availability, which is very limited until at least Christmas! 🀯

That being said, feel free to get in touch and if I can't match your availability, I have plenty of colleagues I can signpost you to.🀝

I love taking photographs! πŸ₯°πŸ“·

It's my favourite way of making art, communicating and connecting with the world around me. 🀩

For those who don't know, I make sets of photocards to sell - check out my page for more info on costs, the different sets and how they can support the work you do... Perfect if your toolkit needs a refresh!

A photo of one of the sets is below πŸ‘‡

Potentially heavy post alert! ⚠️

This last week I have been thinking more about how we cope when the world feels overwhelming and unfair, communication πŸ—£οΈ is not clear and leads to misunderstanding and how external situations and experiences can impact on our internal world or trigger unhelpful thoughts and feelings... πŸ˜₯πŸ˜‘πŸ˜–

I know... that is a lot! It can all feel very heavy πŸͺ¨ and hard to regroup from.

The examples above are unsurprisingly often part of my working world 🌎 and one of the many suggestions I share is trying to pay attention πŸ‘€ (no matter how briefly) to the intrusion, rather than desperately trying to push it away.🫸

Pushing it away only makes it resurface more and often at unhelpful times. 'Greeting' πŸ‘‹ the intrusion, even when you really don't want to, gives it less power and gives you more control πŸ•ΉοΈ over how you experience such situations.

It can also help us to then look for things we can take action 🎬 with, as feeling helpless and hopeless tends to do the opposite. Maybe the action we can take has no direct link to the distressing experience, but it can still give us a sense of grounding and purpose πŸ₯°, which in turn can feel empowering and help strengthen πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈour motivation to work towards coping with the other challenges we face.

When things challenge me, I look to the sky (as I'm sure you all know 🀣). Please enjoy this photo of a plane trail at sunset πŸŒ‡.... It reminds me of an empowered rocket moving away from the darkness and into the light 🀩

Hi all πŸ‘‹

My friend Astro Tayto πŸ›ΈπŸ₯” and I would like your help - can you shed some light on the below πŸ‘‡

I am in the process of reviewing what people may want in relation to events/workshops l host, following some low attendance/ the need to cancel events over the last few months.

In answer to some previous queries - my availability is limited as I work full-time and I tend to close ticket sales 1 week beforehand as I have to juggle a lot of preparation for the event around my work. πŸ€Ήβ€β™€οΈ I only hold events/workshops within my working hours so that I can maintain a level of self-care and work/life balance. βš–οΈ

Please can you share your thoughts around what might work best for you in relation to the following questions via comments below or you can email me at ninaramsay13@gmail.com if you want to keep your thoughts private.β“πŸ€” πŸ’¬

Which weekdays work best for you? πŸ—“οΈ

Mornings, lunchtimes or afternoons? πŸ•°οΈ

What would you like to see/ experience at events? πŸ‘οΈ

For those who have attended so far, what works well? ⭐ What could be improved?

Would you prefer creative based self-care inspired workshops only, rather than 'networking' style events? 🎨

How do you feel about the cost? πŸ’·

Does it feel ok to have things to buy and sell at the events? πŸ›’

How do you feel about the fundraising element? 🀲

Any other thoughts or suggestions? πŸ’

I really appreciate any input as this will inform what I offer from the autumn 🍁 onwards!

I had some lovely feedback from a client who ended recently - always a privilege when people ask me to be part of their journey πŸ₯°

β€˜Nina has been a tremendous help and support to me. I cannot recommend her enough.
She is attentive, empathic and understanding. I felt heard and valued throughout.
I have engaged with therapists in the past, but it has only been through my work with Nina that I have developed a greater level of self-acceptance and growth in confidence. I felt empowered after our sessions.
She was consistently reliable and flexible with sessions, which was greatly appreciated when life gets busy.
Thank you again Nina.’
