April is World Autism Acceptance Month.
Autism is a natural, lifelong difference in how someone's brain works.
Autism affects people in many unique ways - including how they see and understand the world, communicate with others, and react to things like noise, light, and touch.
Acceptance is understanding that autism isn't something that needs to be fixed, or a disability - and that society, expectations and 'norms' can be disabling for autistic people.
Reasonable adjustments are a way for autistic people to ask for changes in how they access healthcare or other public services so they aren't disadvantaged.
