Help Brighten Someone’s Day – Personal Assistant Needed

We are looking for a kind‑hearted, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support a gentleman, living with early onset advanced dementia. This role is all about providing meaningful companionship, gentle support, and helping him enjoy the world around him. A full driving licence is essential, as he requires 2:1 care always.

💛 About the Role

This gentleman is non‑verbal, but he is very much aware of what’s happening around him and appreciates eye to eye contact with friendly facial expressions and being spoken to in a gentle quiet manner. He communicates his feelings through his behaviour and facial expressions - he may switch off, become sleepy, or appear bored when unhappy. Your presence, attention, and respect will make a real difference to his day.

You’ll be working alongside an experienced main PA, ensuring he feels included, valued, and safe always. His wellbeing is the absolute priority, and we’re looking for someone who truly understands that.

🚗 Daily Support & Activities

Personal care, including support with pads for toileting

Gentle assistance with mobility - he may have jerky movements and is at risk of falls

Calm, patient support as tasks may take a little extra time

Social time and companionship, to be creative with places to go to.

Outings from late mornings to the mid‑afternoon or early evening, once he is up and ready for the day

This gentleman enjoys walking very much ie: National Trust visits to Wallington etc, people‑watching, and spending time outdoors when the weather is kind

🌼 What We’re Looking For

We’re hoping to find someone who truly sees him at the centre of everything they do - someone who speaks to him with respect, never over him, and who brings patience, gentleness, and genuine understanding to every interaction. His condition means things can take a little longer, and he may have sudden movements or moments of vulnerability, so a calm, steady presence is essential. Most of all, we’re looking for a person who values dignity, connection, and the small moments that make his day brighter.

This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.

At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.

Male Personal Assistant Wanted – Football, Music & Good Chat

Are you friendly, reliable, and up for a role that’s genuinely rewarding? We’re looking for a Male Personal Assistant to support a bright, funny and sociable 19‑year‑old young man with bilateral dyskinetic cerebral palsy. He splits his time between mum and dad, and while at mum’s he needs support 6:30am–8:30am to get ready for college (on a rota, not every week). There are also opportunities for evening social support a couple of times a week.

⭐ About Him

He’s sharp, witty, and full of personality. His body doesn’t always cooperate, but his mind certainly does. He loves:

Football (especially Newcastle matches with his dad)
Music
Going to the pub
Meeting up with friends
Having a good laugh and a proper chat

He communicates verbally, and the more time you spend with him, the easier it becomes to understand his speech.

⭐ What You’ll Be Helping With

Morning routine: getting out of bed, showering, dressing, and preparing for college
Personal care (he currently uses pads but can use the toilet/bottle for urinating)
Supporting transfers using hoists
Occasional evening outings to help him socialise and enjoy life

⭐ What We’re Looking For

Male PA preferred
Someone patient, upbeat, and sociable
A driver is preferred
Comfortable using hoists
PEG experience is a bonus (training can be provided)

⭐ Why This Role Matters

You won’t just be helping with daily tasks — you’ll be supporting a young man who wants to live life fully, enjoy his hobbies, and stay connected with friends. If you like football, music, and being part of someone’s world in a meaningful way, this could be a perfect fit.

I’m looking for a Personal Assistant for my 10 year old son, Kian, who’s very sociable and friendly. He’s very energetic and a bit of a thrill seeker too, so anyone working with him will need to match his personality. He loves trying and experiencing new things, so this is where I hope a PA can support me, to ensure he gets maximum enjoyment in his life.

He loves to dance to music, and go on big fun fair rides, as well as being a bit of a foodie, so eating out is always welcomed.

He likes having days out at the park and the beach, as well as going swimming and to soft plays. We often use public transport on days out, which adds to the adventure for him.

Kian requires supervision at all times, as he is not aware of dangers around him. He has Down’s Syndrome with other additional needs, including hearing and visual impairments, and some mobility and respiratory issues. His behaviour can be challenging if he becomes frustrated. Any PA will spend time learning from me, to understand how best to support my son.

My daughter is 9 years old. She is autistic with learning disabilities & is nonverbal. She is a sensory seeker and loves running & trampolining. Her favourite activities at present, are her iPad and avatar games. She loves to throw too, which can keep you busy. When we have good weather, she loves the beach and park as well as going for a drive in the car.

Ideally, I would like to find someone with significant experience of working with children & SEN children given she can be quite unpredictable at times if dysregulated as she can hurt herself, and this is quite distressing to see if not seen before.

Hi, my name is Ben. I’m a 16-year-old boy and I’m autistic. I’m quite shy at first, so it takes me a little time to feel comfortable around new people, but once I do, I can really open up.

I’m looking for someone friendly, patient, and understanding to support me to develop my independence and confidence. This will include helping me with everyday skills like going to the shop, meeting new people, and feeling more confident when I’m out in the community.

I have a few interests that are really important to me. I love Dragon Ball Z and Godzilla, and I really enjoy making TikTok videos. I’m also a big fan of Newcastle Eagles basketball and like watching their games.

The right person for me will be someone who can encourage me at my own pace, help me try new things, and support me to grow in confidence while respecting who I am. A good sense of humour and an interest in the things I enjoy would be a big plus.

If you think you could support me to build my independence and confidence, I’d really like to meet you.

Hours: 5 hours per week term time and 12 hours per week school holidays to include weekend work, flexibility required, per position.

Pay: £15.50 per hour

A driver is essential for this role, business insurance required.

About the Role

I am currently looking for two personal assistants to work on a 2:1 support basis to support me access the community so I can enjoy my chosen activities and venues safely. You must have a good level of fitness and have experience working with children with Autism, Learning Disabilities and PICA and be able to communicate using PECS. I use my tablet or text to show my needs too. You must be willing to access the community and stay indoors if I choose to remain at home, but I love being out and about so this would not happen very often 😊 I require my PAs to display good boundaries and assertiveness; routine and structure are key to me remaining regulated. I have a GSOH, so you need to be bubbly, fun, and cheerful.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care Support

Assistance with aftercare after toileting and I may need prompting to remind me I need the loo.
Support with eating and cutting up my food if required.

Daily Living Support

Assistance with social activities and accessing the community.
Ability to safeguard me when I am out in the community with you, I always need full supervision.
You may be required to participate in TV or YouTube and enjoy sing-a long sessions.
I may need support dressing appropriately for the weather.

Mobility & Transport

Safely transport me to my chosen venues and activities and ensure I am securely seated in the car.
Full, clean UK driving licence is essential if you are a driver, business insurance is required.

Who You Are

Physically fit – able to safely and securely keep me safe and manage challenging behaviours if I become dysregulated.
Able to follow instructions from my parents carefully and work with sensitivity.
Respectful of boundaries, cultural differences, and personal space.
You must have experience working with Neurodiverse children and be able to demonstrate your experience practically. Experience of working in a SEND environment would be advantageous.
Bubbly, happy, and outgoing.
Naturally upbeat, positive, patient and compassionate.
Good at taking the initiative but also comfortable being guided from my parents or myself.
Responsible with strong attention to detail and vigilant always.
Be a non- smoker due to allergens.

About Me (Alfie)

I am 9 years old and reside with my mum and younger brother, I attend school which I enjoy. I require structure and routine and individuals with clear boundaries and the ability to reinforce instructions to keep me safe and regulated as I have no sense of danger. I am non-verbal so you must be willing to learn all my cues and quirks.

I enjoy visits to The Tim Lamb Centre and anywhere that has sensory activities. I love the park especially swings and I like to be outdoors. I will need areas that are securely enclosed, so I don’t abscond, swimming is a good option too, but it needs to be during quiet sessions, or ideally an individual slot at somewhere like the Alan Shearer Centre where I am a member, as too much noise can dysregulate me.

I love action songs especially The Wheels on the Bus and Old McDonald, so expect to join in with all the actions.

I would like to go swimming when it is very quiet which might mean you need to start work early on those occasions to catch the early quiet sessions, especially during the school holidays. Trampolining is always something I enjoy so we could go to a trampoline park too.

I will lead by hand if I require something or use my technology to show you what activities I would like to engage in, I do like to bake so this is another activity we may enjoy together.

Mum says I am very strong so you need to be able to manage this should I become upset, I can harm myself if I become dysregulated, I will need you to keep me safe if this does occur.

I am outgoing, bubbly and a happy boy and I would like my PAs to have the same traits as me.

I am looking forward to having my very own PAs and going out on new adventures with them.
