☀️ We caught the last of the summer sunshine with a fantastic garden party in our newly built garden!

🌸The sun shined all afternoon as we enjoyed a wonderful day with our residents, families, and friends. 🎶 Robert filled the air with beautiful accordion music, while everyone tucked into delicious cakes, refreshing drinks, and a variety of dishes prepared by our amazing chefs, Helen and Paul. 🍰🥂

There was fun for all with our raffle and tombola, and together we raised an incredible £498 for our Residents’ Social Fund! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and bought raffle tickets, your support means so much. ❤️ And an extra big thank you to our dedicated staff who worked tirelessly to make the day such a success. 👏

Our residents loved joining in with the quiz, singing along to some tunes, getting creative with crafts, and playing board games together. To top it all off, we enjoyed a delicious meal. 🎶🎨🎲🍴
A big heartfelt thank you to all the amazing volunteers at the Church who made this day so special. Your effort and kindness brought so much joy, and we all had a fantastic time together! ❤️

👏Felicitations! Our residents celebrated their fifth graduation, marking 50 French lessons — fabuleux! Using Wimbledon-themed vocabulary, they made their own sunglasses (lunettes de soleil) to watch the tournament.🎾 Congratulations to all the residents for their hard work, and a big merci to the wonderful teacher, Judith.♥️

This June, in Arts and Crafts, we gathered some beautiful flowers and leaves from our neighbourhood gardens and held a mini workshop using natural dye techniques! 🌼

Our Joan kindly shared her cherished 80-year-old handkerchiefs with the other residents.

Using small stones, we tapped the flowers and leaves onto the fabric to transfer their natural colours — creating beautiful prints full of charm and creativity. It was a wonderful mix of nature and hands-on fun.

Our residents had an unforgettable visit to Alnwick Castle, led by a knowledgeable and humorous tour guide who brought the history of the Percy family to life with fascinating stories and a few good laughs along the way!

The Great Kitchen was open to the public for the first time, and we were lucky enough to explore it accompanied by Stephen who explained his project.

To top it all off, we were honored to enjoy lunch in the hall. This trip was made even more special as we celebrated Dora’s incredible 99th birthday together — what a joy to mark such a milestone in such a majestic setting!

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed every moment of their trip to Alnwick Castle. 🏰
