I love this quote

Bhagavad Gita 2.71

“A person who gives up all material desires and lives free from a sense of proprietorship and egoism, and thus is free from all attachment, attains peace.”
From my yoga perspective in yoga, we don’t renounce the world — we simply release our grip on it.
Non-attachment doesn’t mean walking away from life. It means walking through life lightly.

It’s the difference between holding something and clinging to it.
Between enjoying what’s in your hands and being defined by what’s in your hands.

When nothing owns you — not your schedule, not your possessions, not even your expectations — you move with a different kind of grace.
You act, but you’re not entangled.
You love, but you don’t lose yourself.
You give, but you’re never emptied.

This is the quiet power the Gita points to:
Freedom isn’t found in letting everything go — it’s found in letting go of the need to hold on.

Caroline’s Ponteland Yoga Dunstanburgh Weekend 26th March 2026

4 days -arrive after 3 pm for yoga at 5 pm Thursday 26th March 2026 leave Sunday evening or before 12 noon Monday 30th March 2026. Our Venue, with parts older than Dunstanburgh Castle is bursting with period features, set in expansive grounds, this exceptional ten-bedroomed country hall lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just under a mile from the picturesque coastal village of Craster, on the coast of Northumberland. Parts of the existing pele tower may date from the 11th century, whilst the rest of the house was built in the early 14th and 18th centuries, with the 18th-century wing rebuilt in the early part of the 20th century. The pele tower was rebuilt around 1310 as a watchtower for the nearby Dunstanburgh Castle, which was then being constructed. The unusual crowstepped top floor of the tower was created in the 16th century, when the then owners were no longer worried about maintaining defensive strength, and it was converted into a pigeon loft. Some of the fireplaces and stonework come from the lost Tudor house of Gloster Hill. There are spectacular coastal views to the east towards Dunstanburgh Castle. The beautiful beach at Embleton Bay is a mile or so north along a pretty bridleway. An excellent base to enjoy the marvellous beaches, dunes and walks along the Northumberland coast. There is a wealth of historical and recreational sites, including Alnwick Castle and Garden, Bamburgh, Holy Island, Farne Islands, Warkworth and the Cheviot Hills. Craster itself is world famous for its kippers. Golf available locally. Shops ¾ mile, pub 400 yards.

🕰️ The clocks go back tonight!
As we gently slip into the darker, slower months, it’s the perfect reminder to honour the rhythm of the seasons — to rest a little more deeply, move a little more mindfully, and reconnect with what grounds us. 🌿

I’ve just returned to the UK from beautiful, sun-drenched Mexico 🇲🇽, and I’m so looking forward to seeing my lovely students again in our lovely UK x

Let’s flow with the season together — nourishing body, breath, and spirit as we move into this new cycle. 🍁🧘‍♀️

Treat yourself and bring an extra blanket for the end of the class when we really encourage rest 🙏
See you on the mat,
✨ Caroline
