Yoga shouldn’t be a chore, it should be a celebration.

But life is so busy and we have so many obligations that it sometimes seems the hardest thing to do is get the mat out. And suddenly one missed class becomes 6 missed classes and this thing that you love, that makes you feel so good becomes something to feel guilty about.

Well no more!

Let me take the heavy lifting out of your practise.

No scrolling through youtube for hours to find a video you fancy, only to realise halfway through that their idea of ‘relaxing’ is twenty rounds of intense ab exercises.

No more promising yourself that you’ll do yoga tonight only to feel too tired to change out of your clothes.

No need for fancy equipment, a tidy house, or someone to look after the kids for 90 minutes.

I’ve got you!

Get one fun, easy to follow, yoga or meditation straight to your inbox every Monday.

Sessions are between 5-20 minutes long and designed to do as you are. No need to get out your mat or change your clothes

Feel good without the faff.

And join me for a 10 minute reset.

The world won’t stop, but you’ll feel so much better…

I hated PE when I was at school. I was so bad at it. Uncoordinated, clumsy, cold.

It felt like we were all put into two camps, the people who could do PE, and the people who couldn’t.

And I was firmly in the couldn’t camp.

Not that I minded, boys, music, art, parties, they were all far more interesting than such lowly things such as my cardiovascular health. Bleep tests were of little concern (do you have the bleep test outside the UK?).

And it was all good. Until it wasn’t.

The wheels came off after a bereavement, and in the midst of grief I realised I needed to do something to reclaim my body. This meat puppet that I’d been dragging round my whole life was crying out for my attention, and I couldn’t pretend anymore.

So I joined a gym. And I hated it. It was awful. It was painful. It was everything I remembered about PE, and yet I stayed.

And I’m glad I did because when I started going to a yoga class on their timetable it was just what I needed. It was permissive, fun, and it didn’t matter that I wasn’t ‘good’ at it.

I’d love to say that overnight I was saved, that I was transformed into someone who did netball at the weekend. But that’s not what happened.

The truth is I still struggle with the conditioning of my upbringing, I still struggle to get on my mat some days. I don’t always feel like my body and me are on the same team.

But after over 15 years of a regular yoga practise I am getting there.

Now I’m a teacher, I still remember the feeling of being awkward and new and worrying that people will laugh, of not feeling worthy, and not knowing the lingo or having the right gear.

And I’ve made it my mission to create a yoga space for people who hated PE. People who know they deserve more, who want to find joy in movement and have FUN doing it.

So if this sounds like you, come and join us in my BRAND NEW online yoga space. It’s completely free and there’ll be chats, yoga tutorials meditations and fun. 🤩

Relaxation isn’t just about softness, it’s also about trust.

When we don’t have the stability to trust that we can support ourselves, our bodies will tighten to compensate.

This is true physically but also emotionally.

We can’t expect people to ‘just relax’ if they don’t have the support, and tools to be safe.

When practising and teaching yoga it’s important that we recognise both the inner tools that we need to relax and the structural tools that we need to be stable.

Do you believe in magic? ✨

I’m not sure I do.

But I believe that there’s things in this world that we don’t understand.
And I believe that we are a social animal, that unconsciously send and read cues from each other all the time.

I believe our body has an intelligence that’s always two steps ahead of our brain.
And I believe that our bodies and brains are one, that we are not separate, not from ourselves or each other.

I teach pregnancy yoga and I see life being created from no where. Actual people being loved into existence.

And I’ve watched as a class has started to breathe in rhythm with each other in savasana.
Did you know that happens? That our bodies long for union.

And I’ve been on zoom calls where I’ve seen someone ask ‘oooh can I just ask how your job interview went?’ to another person that they’ve never met, hundreds of miles away.
A community created through wires and human ingenuity.

I’m not sure I believe in magic, but I believe in us.

I believe that most humans are good most of the time, I believe in hope, and I believe that we can only do so much on our own, that we need to rest and we need each other.

And a new chapter begins!

To everyone who ever visited the old studio a huge huge thank you.

In that space we had so many pregnancies, friendships made, laughs, hugs, cups of tea.
We socially distanced and zoomed, we had Christmas parties and yoga teacher trainee graduations.

It was way more than a studio, it was a home and it feels really weird that I’m never going to teach there again.

But when a chapter ends a new one begins and this new studio is gorgeous. It’s so peaceful, and it’s ready to welcome you to class.

We’re moving on up!

Yes literally.
We are moving studios but don’t worry we aren’t going far, we’re in the same building but on a higher floor.
The new space is lovely, and the timetable is staying exactly the same.
We’re still ironing out exact details and dates but it’ll probably be in the next couple of weeks and I’ll be sending out all the details once they’re ironed out.

We’ve had so much fun in the studio and it’ll be emotional to leave but onwards and upwards!
