Discovery zoo visited us yesterday and we enjoyed seeing, holding, and learning about the critters. Monty the Python, Flash the Tortoise, Rosie the Tarantula, Dexter the Gecko, and Twiggy the Leaf Mimic. Of course Paul too, who taught us all about the animals and supported us in learning about them, and wearing them too! 🐍

We spotted an idea that one of our sister care homes had done, so this afternoon we spent time thinking of as many words as we could for different letters of the alphabet.
This was such a funny activity which quickly became "which rude words can we think of" and "which long words can we make Bethan have to spell"!
We had the whole lounge laughing with both residents and staff joining in by the end. We'll definitely do this again, as aside from being great for the brain, for word recall and cognitive ability, it was a lot of fun.

The next meeting is on 𝟭𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 (that's next Tuesday) at 𝟭𝟬.𝟯𝟬𝗮𝗺. We will have coffee and refreshments as we hold o...

The next meeting is on 𝟭𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 (that's next Tuesday) at 𝟭𝟬.𝟯𝟬𝗮𝗺. We will have coffee and refreshments as we hold our weekly coffee morning at the same time 😊 minutes will be available after the meeting for anyone who can't join us.

🎄 Now that Halloween’s over… it’s basically Christmas, right?!

While you’re digging through your lofts, sheds, or spare rooms to find your decorations, please have a quick look to see if you’ve got any Christmas bits you no longer want or need.

We would love to give them a new home instead of seeing them end up in the bin. We’re especially looking for lights this year - it’s a big home, so we’ll need loads to make it shine! ✨

If you’ve got anything you’d like to donate to us, you can drop it off at the office, or just send a message and we can arrange something.

Today we visited Richardson's Garden Centre for a lovely lunch and to see their reindeer! It's never too early for Christmas either so we bought a few decorations for when our trees go up. Back at Whorlton Grange, we carved some pumpkins 🎃 don't they look great!?

You may have noticed over the last week or two that we have been working on something spooky! Our latest interhome challenge from Wellburn Care Homes was to make a scarecrow, using recycled and 2nd hand materials, focusing on creativity and originality. We think we've done a pretty good job, and we are looking forward to seeing the other homes efforts as well.
You can see our scarecrow at the front entrance next time you visit 🎃
