Today we've been talking about super powers and our Ronnie kicked off the conversation with his suggestion. We also spent time with Discovery zoo, meeting the different critters. Pam plucked up the courage to touch Monty the Python, well done Pam!

Yesterday the brainy bunch spent the afternoon thinking up words to try and catch out Bethan, our lifestyle coordinator, with her spelling. There's some fantastic words on these lists from so many of the residents (and a couple of the staff too). Such a fun game and great for cognitive skills too!

Eric, Mick, and Sheila (and Janice!) enjoyed a really special trip to St James Stadium for a stadium tour today and we're pleased to meet the one and only Bobby Moncur too! It was a really nice way to spend a few hours and relive some of the history of NUFC, whilst also getting to see the pitch in all it's glory, and see sights such as the directors suite (which was super fancy) and the players changing room with all their kit.

We have enjoyed the lovely youth group from Denton Youth and Community Project coming to play bingo with us this evening after tea! What a chatty bunch, keeping us entertained and bringing us plenty prizes too! Thanks for coming to see us and we'll see you again soon.

Today we were thrilled to have a visit from four lovely gentlemen from Veterans for Veterans in Care, who will be coming to see us and chat once a month or so. It was really lovely to speak with them and hear about what they are doing to support Veterans in care, and how their work has impacted others. Bob was delighted when they said they would bring him his own beret next time, to show recognition for his hard work in the royal engineers.

Today we've seen Daisy, our Wag and Co companion, and had some quite competitive games of pool, and yesterday some of us enjoyed a trip out on the bus for lunch and then ice cream up by the angel of the north. A lovely couple of days 😊

Our 80s day was so good and we had such a fun time with Shhuffle Silent Disco!! Started the day off with Josh and his super SMILE Through Sport session, then onto the party after lunch where we sang and danced our hearts out. Some fabulous looking residents and some very well dressed staff too. Boy George (aka Craig) got first prize for best dressed, followed by Leonie and Caroline as runners up. Well done to everyone for their efforts :)

Fish and chips at coastline chippy in Blyth, and a drive down to North Shields, plus ice cream in Whitley bay where Michael got out the binoculars! 🍦a lovely day out with some fabulous friends 😊
