🛑 When is it REALLY time to call the hospital?

One of the biggest anxieties I hear in my antenatal classes is: "How will I know when it's the real deal?"

As a midwife, I love the 3-1-1 rule for early labour at home. It’s a great guide to help you stay calm and know when things are progressing:

⏱️ 3: Contractions are roughly 3 minutes apart.
⏱️ 1: They are lasting for at least 1 minute.
⏱️ 1: This has been happening consistently for at least 1 hour.

Why stay home as long as possible? Because your own environment is where you feel safest, which keeps that vital oxytocin flowing! 🏠💖

Note: Always call your triage/assessment unit immediately if your waters break, you have bleeding, or you are worried about baby’s movements.
