Wanting to celebrate this Valentine’s Day but don’t want to cause any gut drama?
You can still enjoy great food, it’s all about healthier choices and a happier gut.
Here's a breakdown of what we'd suggest for a Valentine's meal for two that helps keep the gut balanced:
🍤 Starters: glow-supporting, not bloat-inducing
Go for seafood or lighter options. Salmon / prawn starters → omega-3s = anti-inflammatory, great for redness, acne, and dryness.
🐟 Mains: calm skin > heavy indulgence
Best picks, go for simple mains, like seafood en croûte or plain meat mains. Avoid really rich sauces, and very processed or salty mains as this can worsen puffiness and inflammation.
🥦 Sides: anti-inflammatory energy
Green veg sides (asparagus, tenderstem, greens). Avoid creamy sides if you’re breakout-prone
🍓 Dessert: glow, not sugar crash
If there’s a lighter or fruit-leaning dessert, that’s the move. Vegan alternatives can be great too as they're dairy-free.
Whatever you choose to do this Valentine's Day though, enjoy your day with loved ones!
