Last week we celebrated letter to an elder day. We had a fabulous response with letters and cards, poems and jokes and some lovely gifts. We really can't thank everyone enough! We've also made some fabulous friends at SGS food testing labs who have promised they are going to come and visit too. We're already looking forward to next year we loved the letters so much!

Our charity partner Ouseburn Farm Charity Ltd told us they'd love it if we made some things for their shop so we've been inspired Willow the cow Vanda has been making some beautiful tote bags which we will take along on our next bus trip. We're also making our Easter chicks & magpies again so if anyone could donate some easter eggs to go inside we'd be very grateful.🐣🐰🥚🐣

Our Book Fairy loves to share the magic of spellbinding stories, and is running a special competition across our care homes! We're inviting young bookworms to show off their World Book Day costumes and share their favourite stories with our residents 📚🐛

We've got some brilliant bookish prizes up for grabs:
✨ a bumper pack of 10 Julia Donaldson illustrated storybooks,
✨ a collection of 16 classic Roald Dahl books,
✨ and 10 timeless children's classics, including Alice in Wonderland and Black Beauty.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply post a photo of your child's World Book Day costume in the comment section with a short message about their favourite book, character or author 📖

Residents will then choose their favourite costumes, with three lucky winners being announced on our page on Monday 🏆

We have had the perfect bus trip this morning. We headed to Thornley Woodlands Centre to explore the sculpture trail. We enjoyed a walk, lots of fresh air, beautiful scenery, bird song seranades and a lovely cuppa afterwards

This morning on their walk Jim and Vanda have been collecting all the bits and bobs of rubbish. They have been making sure a small part of our local area is clean and tidy.

Yesterday we enjoyed a day in Seahouses with fish and chips, a visit to the arcades, some of us walked round the harbour and looked at the Farne Islands before finishing off with ice cream.

We're looking to replace our greenhouse as it seems to be beyond saving. Before we buy something brand new (and expensive) does anyone know of anyone who is upgrading and selling their old greenhouse please and thank you

Did you know today is drink wine day? Our residents are very happy to follow that instruction and it seemed like a good opportunity to enjoy a few wine gums too...🍷🥂🍇

17th February is random acts of kindness day. A few weeks ago we made some flowers and today we braved the cold and went out to make people smile. We love leaving little gifts and we're hoping we will be able to work with The Mini Elves Project latwr in the year to spread even more kindness In a world where you can be anything please be kind.
