Diagnostics job in recently in from another garage,dpf continuously filling with soot and management faults for air correlation,fault traced to camshaft timing chain guide failure causing it to jump one tooth (running remarkably well considering) upgraded chain/cam kit fitted and rebuilt-back running as it should with dpf self cleaning once again!

Congratulations to Daniel Armstrong on becoming an official MOT-tester today after completing his final demonstration test for DVSA👌🏻
Daniel has spent the last few years completing the necessary courses/exams to become a fully qualified technician,this has then enabled him to access the MOT training/certification required👏

The oldest business in Prestwick is the Bank Top Garage. The garage has its origins in Wilfred Armstrong whose mother used to run the White Swan at Dinnington. Following the First World War, when the use of petrol driven engines exploded, he set himself up in business as a haulage contractor. The main part of the current garage would appear to date from the 1950’s. In the 1970’s it was trading as W. Armstrong & Son at the Bank Top Garage. Much altered and expanded over the years, the garage is still in business today and still run by the Armstrong family.

Recent mystery shop carried out at Banktop👍🏻
To be absolutely honest we’re a touch surprised this went so perfectly only because of how manic busy it’s been of late!
It’s been difficult to give everyone all the attention they deserve at times but we always try our best!

A few extra diagnostic platforms added to our collection recently to give us deeper coverage on your vehicles along with a lot of Chinese vehicles covered,all with full subscriptions with access to software as it’s released.

Two BMWs in today for EML lights with recorded faults on particulate sensors- both replaced with genuine sensors and adapted to management system (one requiring software update) and exhaust repair where it snapped in place even after induction heater used!
Toyota hilux blowing hot air only from heaters diagnosed as servo motor on heater box,part on backorder with dealer so manually set to cool until it arrives!

Few vehicles in for various work recently, Toyota for alternator issues and rear brakes,transit for battery drains,jaguar xf for inlet manifolds(new aluminium type),Audi for four wheel alignment,vw for coolant leaks and multiple other cars for various issues alongside servicing and air con etc (been no posts for a while as been too busy to document jobs as we go along!)
