Pete was fairly active before joining Primal playing golf, walking his dog and going for the odd run but he lacked structure in his exercise routine

Charlotte joined us back in June last year, and since then has become one of our most consistent and committed members, fully embedding herself into the Primal community.

A regular at the 6am sessions, Charlotte has built some great friendships along the way, not just training together in the gym, but catching up outside of it too. It’s exactly what we love to see and a big part of what makes Primal what it is.

What makes Charlotte’s journey even more impressive is that she was completely new to training when she first joined. But you’d never guess that now. She’s taken to it like a duck to water, picking things up quickly, listening to coaching, and always keen to learn and improve. The result? Huge progress in her strength across the board.

Like many journeys, it hasn’t all been plain sailing. Charlotte has had a couple of setbacks along the way, including time out for a knee operation, but true to form, that didn’t stop her. As soon as she was able, she came straight back in and picked up right where she left off.

Charlotte came to us already in great shape, but wanted that extra bit of support and guidance to get back to where she wanted to be, and she’s absolutely done that.

Since joining, she’s:
Lost nearly 5kgGained 1kg of muscleDropped over 6% body fat
An incredible transformation and a real credit to her consistency and attitude.

Jonny has been part of the Primal family since January 2022, joining after his wife Kaye got started and was loving her training (and making great progress!).

Safe to say, he hasn’t looked back since.

From day one, Jonny has been incredibly consistent, which makes his journey even more impressive when you consider how often he’s working away, whether that’s down in London, abroad, or sometimes for a full week at a time.

Despite that, he’s still racked up an amazing 800+ sessions with us!

In the gym, Jonny is someone who loves a challenge. He’s always pushing himself to his limits, especially on the cardio side (he’s no stranger to digging deep!), but more recently he’s been stepping things up with his strength training too, making some great progress across the board.

Outside of sessions, Jonny is always up for getting involved, whether it’s in-gym challenges or social events, he’s there.

He and Kaye are a brilliant team, juggling training alongside family life with their two children, making sure they both stay consistent while keeping up with all the kids’ clubs and activities. That balance deserves huge credit

Jonny’s also no stranger to events. Last year, he took on the Hybrid Games in a doubles pairing with our resident DJ Stubbsy, and this year he’s signed up for Gauntlet Games alongside his gym bestie, Miller, and we know he’ll throw absolutely everything at it!

Most importantly, Jonny is just a great guy to have around. Always up for a laugh, gets on with everyone, and brings a brilliant energy to every session. He’s a pleasure to coach and an even better person to train alongside.

Jonny, massive credit to you for your consistency, attitude, and effort over the years, keep smashing it

We all have doubts whenever we are looking to start something new for the first time

Having spoken to hundreds of people in this place trust me when I say that we’ve heard all sorts of reasons why people think they don’t want to get started

And truthfully…

Most of our members said the exact same things before they started.

👉 They weren’t lazy.
👉 They weren’t unmotivated.
👉 They were just unsure.

But here’s what actually happened when they did start:

✔️ They found structure
✔️ They had someone guiding them
✔️ They became consistent
✔️ They started feeling better (fast)
✔️ And they realised… it wasn’t as scary as they thought

This isn’t about being “fit enough”
This isn’t about having loads of time
And it’s definitely not about being perfect

It’s about showing up… and having the right people around you when you do.

That’s what we do at Primal.

Penny has been part of the Primal family since 2021, and in that time has become one of the most loved members in our community.

If you’ve ever met Penny, you’ll know exactly why, the kindest soul you could meet, always smiling, always chatty, and always bringing a warm, friendly energy into every session. She’s the type of person who makes everyone feel welcome the moment they walk through the door.

And alongside that amazing personality, Penny has achieved so much over the years.

Since joining, she’s lost an incredible 15kg, taken on challenges like Total Warrior, and raised money for charity through events like the Colour Run, always willing to get stuck in and give things a go.

More recently, Penny stepped into the world of hybrid racing, completing her first Hyrox alongside fellow member and friend Vic, and absolutely smashing it! It didn’t take long for her to catch the bug and want more…

Unfortunately, a few months later, Penny picked up a knee injury, and at the time it felt like those types of events might be off the table for good. But if there’s one thing Penny has, it’s resilience.

She put the work in. Rehabbed the knee. Built it back up steadily. Stayed consistent. Kept pushing in the areas she could, especially cardio and upper body, all while trusting the process.

And this past weekend… she made her comeback in style.

Penny took on a solo Hyrox!

An absolutely incredible achievement and a huge moment after everything she’s worked through. We couldn’t be prouder of her determination, her attitude, and the way she’s bounced back.

Penny, you’re an inspiration to everyone here. Proof that setbacks don’t define you, how you respond to them does. And you’ve responded in the best way possible.
