Yoga By Stacey

Yoga By Stacey A welcoming space for students to transform and blossom into their true, happy and peaceful selves t come along and give it a go!

I offer Yoga classes that are inspired by my own practice of the Ashtanga tradition, a powerful system of Yoga founded by Sri K Pattabhi Jois. My mission is to help people get out of their head and into the present moment using their body and breath so that they can live in a state of peace, acceptance, and fulfilment. I’d like to make Yoga accessible to all and offer a challenging but nurturing environment in which students may deepen their practice no matter where they are. I consider myself a lifelong student with a passion to share my own findings along this path of Yoga and I welcome you to join me….

Tuned in to see what the Ricky Gervais show ‘After Life’ was like last night, and now I can’t get enough. What a brilliant show that captures humanity beautifully with a humorous edge. It was the backdrop to my practice today and the scene where he went to a meditation class made me laugh out loud 🤣when he was slurping his green tea I thought of my brother who hates noisy eaters too. My energy and emotions have been up and down for a while and I know we can’t ‘think’ our way out of dysregulation, we need to move that energy physically through things like movement, breath-work, meditation, so I have refocused and recommitted to practice, it’s only been 3 days of daily practice but it’s a non-negotiable in my day now. It’s each of our own responsibility to give ourselves what we need. What is it you need? It might mean making changes to your life to allow space for it, asking for help, or something different. Food for thought on a sunny Monday 🙂•

A lil update; post covid my energy levels have been quite low and everything that normally helps regulate my nervous system like yoga has felt more of a challenge; practice has been sporadic and felt harder than ever. I’ve had zero desire to engage with or share anything on social media and I feel like a bear that wants to hibernate. I’m sure I can’t be the only one! I’ve had to work to find the middle ground between accepting what is, and wanting something different. Isn’t that life just now? Nobody wanted this s**t storm yet here it is, the only way through is through. I feel a little bit more peaceful today, managed an almost full practice and feel better for it, tomorrow might be different but I’m taking that win for the day. If you’d like to try Ashtanga and see how it could help you shift energy and feel better, whether physically emotionally or otherwise, then hit me up, I teach a primary series on Sundays 10am at Heaton Community Centre. Beginners super welcome.

Yoga is BACK tomorrow 10am at heaton community centre. It’s fair to say I’ve been absent the last few months from yoga, and found it difficult especially the past few weeks to juggle everything; moved into my first home whilst running a full time business myself that has encountered like many others lots of challenges due to COVID , thus a lot of things have had to take a slight back burner as I’ve not had the mental or emotional capacity or plain old hours in the day to keep up with everything. It’s not woe is me, rather just straight up transparency. I’m being reminded that I’m human and that it’s ok to say ‘this is all I can handle at the moment’ and not feel bad about it. Thanks for reading my ramble if you’ve made it this far and hope to see you in class 🙏

YOGA ON SATURDAYS 🥳🥳

After all of the zooming we are finally starting Ashtanga Yoga IN PERSON from heaton community centre starting June 12th June on Saturday mornings 10am - it’s a big space with plenty of room to socially distance. There is nothing that replicates the energy of a room of people practicing together in my opinion, so come along give it a go!

Beginners welcome. Drop me a message if you have any questions or would like to book a place.

I’m not feelin’ the new year yet at all.

If you also aren’t feelin’ it yet just know that’s totally ok, don’t fake positivity to make others more comfortable.

I’ve found that joy and sadness can exist in the same moment, and it’s accessed through acceptance.

Accepting how you feel without judgement, instead try curiosity, will help you move through it and not stay stuck.

ALL feelings are valid and have a purpose if we pay attention.

So I invite you to practice feeling your feelings, allow space for whatever that is and gently ask questions like why am I feeling this way? What do I need now?

Your feelings, much like your body, will always be changing, so don’t get too attached to one ideal outcome, or state, learn to flow with it. It’s all perfect. It all is.
