What a wonderful day we’ve had on our latest adventure during holiday club!🚌✨

The children were so excited to hop on the bus and head into town for a special outing. Our first stop was the quayside, where we enjoyed taking in the sights before heading into the Baltic. The children had a fantastic time exploring the play room and sensory area – there were so many exciting textures, spaces and activities to discover!

After lots of exploring, everyone sat together to enjoy their lunch, chatting happily about their favourite parts of the morning. 😊

In the afternoon, we walked up to Chinatown, where the children explored the surroundings and learned all about the celebration of Chinese New Year. The children were so curious and asked lots of thoughtful questions!

It was a fun-filled day packed with new experiences, learning opportunities and plenty of smiles. We are so proud of how beautifully the children behaved while out in the community – they were fantastic ambassadors for our nursery! 🌟

🥞✨ Shrove Tuesday Fun at Sammy Bears Holiday Club! ✨🥞

The children took part in lots of wonderful activities throughout the day. We made our very own playdough pancakes, using our imaginations and developing our fine motor skills as we rolled, shaped and flipped them.

In our maths area, we developed our number skills by writing numbers in trays and matching them to our pancakes – fantastic counting and number recognition everyone! 🔢

We also got creative decorating our paper pancakes with lots of colourful toppings, showing off our brilliant creativity.

To make our day even more special, we went for a walk to our local shop to choose pancake toppings. The children did an amazing job selecting their toppings independently and talking about their choices. Back at nursery, we enjoyed creating our own delicious pancakes and, of course, eating them too! 🍓🫐🍌

What a fun-filled day of learning, exploring and celebrating together! 💛

We are definitely feeling the love here at Sammy Bear Day Care this week as we’ve been celebrating Valentine’s Day in lots of wonderful ways! ❤️

Our children have taken part in a variety of exciting activities designed to support their holistic development. We explored our creative side with love heart printing, getting messy with paint and expressing ourselves through colour and pattern. While printing, we also developed our mathematical language by describing the hearts using new words such as “big,” “small,” and “medium.” It’s been fantastic to see the children confidently using these terms during their play!

We’ve also enjoyed a range of sensory activities, giving the children opportunities to explore different textures, smells, and materials — supporting their communication skills, fine motor development, and understanding of the world around them.

From creative arts to hands-on exploration, this week has been filled with kindness, sharing, and lots of smiles. 💕

We would like to welcome Teah to Sammy Bear Daycare.

Teah has fantastic knowledge and understanding working with babies and young children over the passed 8 years.

Teah has amazing enthusiasm and a range of wonderful ideas and activities to support the nursery in delivering the EYFS.

We are thrilled to have Teah as part of our forever growing team 🐻

Today we couldn’t help but explore the snow with our little people.

We extended the ‘real’ snow inside with a flour activity mixed with cotton balls and other materials.

The children investigated and used new words such as ‘squishy, melting, frozen’

Sammy Bear Day Care are looking for an experienced member of staff with a level 3 minimum Early Years Qualification; if this is you or anyone you know of who may be interested - look no further!

Your role would be to support the aims and objectives of the nursery and assist the manager in the organisation of a high quality establishment for children from birth upwards following the curriculum framework.

You must be capable of working on your own enhancing children’s individual learning and work as a team to provide brilliant daily practice.

You will assist with the planning and organisation of nursery in accordance with Local Authority guidelines and nursery procedures.

Start date: mid January 2026
Hours between 8:00am and 5:00pm
Monday - Friday
