Following local NHS prescribing guidance we are advising that patients are to buy antihistamines/nasal sprays/eye drops for hayfever rather than getting them on prescription. The majority are readily available and can be bought from chemists and most supermarkets. Please see the attached leaflet for further info on buying medications over the counter.

Our practice is working closely with local pharmacists to support our patients with certain minor health conditions. It may be more appropriate to have your NHS consultation with a pharmacist, you can choose to have your consultation with any pharmacy convenient to you. Pharmacists are highly skilled healthcare professionals who have trained in medicines and can give health advice and help you manage your condition. If the pharmacist thinks you need to see another healthcare professional, they will help arrange it.
