Children in Need 2025 🧡

Across the UK, children and young people continue to face a range of complicated challenges - meaning that many are having to cope with lots of issues all at the same time. Children in Need fund vital support for children and young people who are struggling with challenges caused by mental health, poverty, social inequality and family related issues. Children in Need believe that every child and young person should have the chance to thrive and be the best that they can be.

We are absolutely over the moon to finally have our full report back and be able to share our GOOD news with you all! ✨

Our latest inspection was announced back in June, and lasted over a few weeks, and involved various different service visits. We are delighted that we have maintained our 'Good' rating across the board, and we feel very blessed that our staff's hard work and dedication has been credited within our now published report. A huge thank you to all of our amazing members of staff - those working within services, those working within the office, and those working within the community. We also can't forget to thank all of our amazing service users, and their families, as they are all the reason behind why we do what we do. 🥰

As we draw closer to Bonfire Night on the 5th November, there are many events and displays taking part in our local communities over this coming weekend, and also next weekend. Whilst many of us enjoy the pretty and magnificent displays, for some, they are not always as enjoyable. If you are planning a private display over the coming days, here are some tips to ensure that everyone remains safe:

✅ Only use fireworks from a reputable seller, marked UKCA or CE
✅ Ensure that you have a bucket of water nearby
✅ A bucket of soft earth to put the fireworks in is always best, with suitable supporters and launchers if you are using catherine wheels or rockets
✅ Light them at arm's length with a taper and stand well back
✅ Keep pets indoors and ensure that children are supervised
✅ Soak used fireworks in a pre filled bucket of water overnight before disposing of them
✅ Wrap used fireworks in a plastic bag
✅ Put fireworks in your general waste bin, or take them to your local recycling center
✅ Fireworks should not be set of between 23:00 and 7:00am
🐶 For our furry friends who can get a little bit startled with the loud bangs, Classic FM will present a specially created music programme to help them settle a little bit more. This will air on Wednesday 5th November 17:00-21:00, and also again on Saturday 8th November between the same times

Home Care Plus is a family run domiciliary care agency that was formed in April 2014. We are specialists in delivering a vast amount of services to people from all ages with varying degrees of abilities, conditions and illnesses. Our main focus is to provide high quality care, by ensuring that you remain in control of the care that you receive, by placing you at the heart of what we do.

Home Care Plus delivers generalist and specialist services for the whole community. We believe in being open, honest and transparent with you at all times, which will hopefully allow you to place your trust in a good quality, family run care, with strong family values and an ethos that will promote independence, dignity and ensure that you are afforded the utmost respect at all times.

Despite this being a relatively new company, the experience that the management team has is vast in the private care sector. Our previous company was formed in 1998 and we were one of the biggest domiciliary care agencies in Newcastle upon Tyne, but also worked with a number of neighbouring authorities, successfully delivering around 12,000 hours of care across the North East, with an excellent reputation. We ceased operating in 2011 to follow a different venture which led us to open a Nursing home for Adults with Complex health needs, which has only further expanded our knowledge in the more clinical specialist aspects of care needs that people need to be able to remain at home, to prevent them needing to be admitted to a residential setting. Hence the reason for us realising that having a domiciliary care company that is led by both a Qualified Nurse and a Qualified Social worker can only enhance the quality of care that is delivered and allow for more complex tasks to be carried out such as PEG feeding, Stoma Care, Pressure relieving Care, Palliative care and much more.
