“Just eat everything in moderation.”

Sounds simple… but for many people it’s exactly why dieting feels so difficult.

Some foods make moderation much harder than it seems.

They trigger cravings, don’t keep you full for long, and make you rely on willpower.

Swipe through to see why focusing more on whole foods can make fat loss much easier.

👇

Are you someone who can eat foods like this in moderation… or do they make you want more?

An early weigh in this week as cheat meal tonight.

Nearly 4lbs lost this week which means nearly 16lbs lost in total in 6 weeks.

Now at the half way point of SHREDin12 and feeling loads better.

Weight loss is great but more importantly feeling better and feeling more energised and happier.

You don’t just eat good to look better, you eat good to feel better.

Excited for the next 6 weeks.

Most people fail fat loss because of this…

They think every meal needs to be exciting.

But for many people, simple “boring” meals actually make dieting easier.

Tasty meals are great… but they often make you want more once you finish.

Simple meals keep you satisfied and let you move on with your day.

For me, the sweet spot is mostly simple meals with a few tasty ones mixed in.
Too many tasty meals and my cravings go crazy.

That said, some people are the opposite. If food is too bland, they won’t stick to it — so they need mostly exciting meals.

The real key is finding what works for you and keeps you consistent.

For some that’s mainly boring meals.
For others it’s exciting meals.
For many it’s a mix of both.

Create your diet so it works best for you.

Today’s lunch: boring old chicken & veg.

And honestly… that’s not a bad thing.

Simple meals like this get a lot of hate because they’re not exciting. But when it comes to weight loss, they work.

✔ High protein
✔ Low carbs
✔ High fibre
✔ Packed with vitamins and minerals

Meals like this keep you full and make it harder to overeat.

You don’t need every meal to be restaurant-level tasty. In fact, super tasty foods often make you want more and more.

Sometimes the boring basics work best.

Just like in the gym:
Lifting the same “boring” weights consistently builds strength and muscle.

Diet is the same. Simple, repeatable meals help you stay consistent.

It’s not forever. Once you reach your goal, you can add more variety back in moderation.

But while dieting, boring often works best.

If you really need some extra taste, add some fruit like I did with grapefruit for dessert 😋

Most people focus on either strength and building muscle or fitness.

At my group sessions you do both.

Build up your strength and muscle doing weight training.

Build up your stamina and fitness doing HIIT.

Working on both is best for long term health.

Someone asked why I had a cheat meal while dieting…

Most people think it ruins progress.

But there’s actually a reason for it.

And most people dieting don’t realise this.

Do you include cheat meals when dieting?

Small loss this week of 0.2kg but I’ll take it. A loss is a loss.

12lbs down in total now.

Whenever I do TRANSFORMin8 weeks 4 and 5 weight loss is usually minimal then it picks back up in weeks 6, 7 and 8. In fact last time when I lost 33lbs in 8 weeks I gained a little in week 5.

When dieting you won’t lose every week, some weeks you will stay the same, some you might even gain a little. It’s completely normal not to lose weight every week.

Just trust the process and do what you need to do and the results will come.

5 weeks ago I had zero motivation to start a diet.

So I started anyway.

Action creates motivation.

Anyone else struggling with motivation right now?
