Headaches aren’t always just in your head — sometimes they start in your neck 👀💆‍♂️
Here are a few simple exercises to help relieve tension and reduce headache frequency.
Consistency is key! 🙌
1. Sub occipital release with ball - Place a ball between the soft tissue by the back of the head and the floor. Gently tuck your chin towards the floor and use your arm to apply additional pressure on the tender point. Either hold for 20 seconds or mobilise by rotating head to the left and right.
2. Upper trap mobilisation - place a ball between your trap and your favourite wall. Either hold for 20 seconds or mobilise through head or arm movement.
3. Sternocleidomastoid holds- Pinch the bad boy demonstrated in the video and gentle rub tender areas of the muscle with your thumb and finger. Do this for 20 seconds then find a new area to work your magic.
