Big Announcement!

Thanks to support from The National Lottery Community Fund, we’re delighted to begin a new two-year journey of seasonal gatherings rooted in nature, creativity, folklore, community and connection — made possible thanks to players.

🌿This will start on Saturday 20th June 2026, when we’ll gather around the fire to celebrate Midsummer in beautiful surroundings with:

🎶 Music & song
🥘 Shared food
🧺 Crafts & traditional skills
🌙 Folklore & seasonal storytelling
🌿 Connection with nature and community

This launch celebration will be free to attend and everyone is welcome. Reserve your place here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1296482709260067?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22%3A[%7B%22surface%22%3A%22search%22%7D%2C%7B%22mechanism%22%3A%22attachment%22%2C%22surface%22%3A%22newsfeed%22%7D]%2C%22ref_notif_type%22%3Anull%7D

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Over the next two years we’ll be hosting eight seasonal gatherings each year, approximately every 6–8 weeks, following the changing seasons through celebration, creativity and connection.

Upcoming gatherings will include:
🌾 Lughnasadh / First Harvest – August
🍂 Autumn Equinox – September
🔥 Samhain – October
❄️ Winter Solstice – December

Thanks to support from costs of our Seasonal Celebration Days are fully funded for the next two years, allowing us to create welcoming and accessible community gatherings throughout the seasons.

Alongside this, we hope to begin building a sustainable long-term future for the project beyond the life of the grant. As the programme grows, future events will introduce modest community ticketing, optional supporter contributions and some free community places available on a trust basis, helping the celebrations remain both accessible and sustainable for years to come.

Spring is in full bloom as we welcome my favourite festival of the year Beltane!

Otherwise known as May Day, this rich and fertile time of year is still celebrated by many cultures and faiths, this is where the tradition of the May pole comes from as ribbons representing masculine and feminine were woven together in a merry dance, celebrating fertility of the land and new life.

Knots of May (Hawthorne blossoms) would be gathered and worn in hairdressers or to decorate homes.

Whether your listening to the Dawn Chorus (more details on Dawn Chorus Day on our page) or appreciating the blossoming trees, there are so many ways to connect and celebrate this wonderful time of year.

We would love to hear how you are celebrating this bright and beautiful time of year, wherever you are, let us know

At Connected In Nature CIC we are always learning more about neurodiversity and exploring the advantages and disadvantages of diagnosis with conditions like ADHD and Autism.

Understanding yourself and having greater levels of compassion are definite advantages to a diagnosis.

Through studying childhood trauma and neurodiversity I recognised how some of my own challenges and gifts fit the ADHD picture. Researching and studying a broad range of credible perspectives has supported me no end. I am on the pathway for a diagnosis but unsure if I actually want or need it, having learned many coping and adaption strategies that help me to make the most out of my neurodiversity!
