ITEC 2026 – Thank You!

ITEC 2026 brought together over 1,200 delegates, 55 exhibitors and 70+ speakers for our biggest and most impactful conference yet. Together, we connected, collaborated and shared ideas that continue to shape the future of Technology Enabled Care.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored, exhibited, and to the sector leaders who shared their expertise your contribution made this event truly special.

This year also marked the end of an era as we said goodbye to Birmingham. We’re proud to have closed this chapter at the ICC with our most successful event to date.

Now, we look ahead… 📍
ITEC is moving to Liverpool in 2027, where a larger venue will create even more opportunities for our sector and members.

Calling All CARE Commissioners – Free Virtual Care Pilots
Can Virtual Care Replace In-Person Visits? Let’s Find Out.

At ITEC this year, one theme consistently emerged: how do we scale care in the face of workforce and budgetary pressures?

Technology-enabled care has made significant progress in monitoring risk. However, monitoring alone does not solve the underlying challenge – people still need human contact, reassurance, and support. At ITEC, Virtual Care began to change that conversation.

At Alcove, our Virtual Care team already delivers over 175,000+ remote care visits each year, supporting reablement and individuals who are older, living with disabilities, or managing long-term conditions. Many of these visits replace tasks that previously required travel and in-person support, forming part of an integrated, independence-enabling hybrid model alongside physical care.

Following the strong interest in Virtual Care at ITEC, we’ve decided to take a practical next step, and are offering free Virtual Care pilots to TEC providers and Local Authorities, providing a platform to collaborate and share best practice within this emerging and impactful sector.

ITEC 2026 delivered a phenomenal impact, demonstrating the strength of the sector and the improvements that can be achieved through collaboration, partnerships and trust.

This year marked the end of an era for ITEC in Birmingham, with our biggest and, dare we say, best conference to date. It highlighted the promise of what is to come as we move to a larger venue next year, allowing us to provide even more value for the sector and our members.

As of today, there are only 221 working days until 31 January 2027. The conference came at a key moment to highlight the need to take action on the analogue-to-digital transition now, with experts across housing, health and care coming together to share valuable experience and success.

We took a deep dive into collaboration, ensuring we keep people at the centre of everything we do. We focused on the everyday support needed to enjoy the lives we want, and how we can take that focus back to our communities. We also explored scaling solutions and turning proactive, preventative care into reality.

We connected through real case studies and with people from communities beyond the UK, learning from our international colleagues. We explored the challenges we all face and recognised that our core mission remains the same: helping people to live the lives they want, and how we can use TEC to achieve that goal.

Collaboration was evident throughout the two days. Everywhere you looked, connections were made, knowledge was shared, discussions were opened up, and valuable, vital conversations took place.

We examined the role of partnerships and how collaboration and co-production represent the future of the sector. We explored workforce challenges and the strategies that turn innovation into everyday care, highlighting solutions that are helping to boost workforce confidence. We also invited students to join us, opening up the learning and innovation from across the sector to the next generation.

ITEC 2026: The TEC Evolution brought together the very best of our sector. Now is the time to reflect and apply what we gained from the conference within our communities, so we can continue to focus on enriching lives.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. Let us know in the comments what your highlight or key takeaway was.

Last week at TSA and PA Consulting released the TEC Outlook Survey 2026, this report brings together insight from senior leaders across adult social care to explore how organisations are approaching technology enabled care today, where progress is being made, and where further support may be needed. It highlights the opportunities technology presents, alongside the practical challenges that organisations continue to navigate.

Drawing on perspectives from decision makers working across local authorities and care organisations, the report explores:
- how technology enabled care is evolving
- how leaders are thinking about scaling services
- how organisations are building confidence across their workforce to support wider adoption.
It also reflects on the importance of sharing learning across the sector so that approaches that work well can be replicated and adapted elsewhere.

Alongside these insights, the report considers the practical steps organisations can take to strengthen their approach to technology enabled care, including improving capability, building confidence among practitioners, and making better use of the data and insight generated through connected technologies.

Day 1 | Innovation Stage | 14:20 - 15:20
Operational Excellence in Practice

For those responsible for keeping TEC services running reliably, the underlying technologies need to be resilient and supportive of operational best practice. This session focuses on the practical foundations for digitally-enabled TEC services, including interoperability, resilience and cyber security. It looks at how guidance, standards and education bring technology and services together in day-to-day practice, shaping risk management and building confidence across organisations. The conversation stays close to operational reality, exploring what makes TEC services and technology trustworthy in a digital world, what reduces pressure on teams, and where support has the greatest impact. Delegates will leave with a clearer understanding of how this work connects to their own services, and how they can stay engaged as these priorities continue to develop.

📅 16 & 17 March 2026
📍 The ICC, Birmingham

As we continue counting down the days until ITEC 2026 take a look at some of the sessions you can access Day 1 in our Knowledge and Networking zones ...

Choose one of two topic-based informal sessions with sector experts who will give you the insights and know-how to build out and deliver an outcomes focused TEC service:

Day 1 | ZONE 1: Knowledge & Networking | 13:00 - 13:45
From Delivery to Demonstrable Value: Simplifying TEC Benefits Realisation

Delivering Technology Enabled Care is only part of the challenge. For local authorities, demonstrating measurable benefits is essential to sustain investment, build confidence, and move beyond pilot delivery. Too often, benefits realisation relies on manual processes, fragmented data, and retrospective reporting, limiting its impact.
This session will explore why we collectively need to shift from claims that aren’t reflected in the bottom-line to using believable local-authority published evidence using standardised methodology with local costs. Transparency builds much-needed trust so that we can collectively shift efforts and focus from pilots and calculating benefits to scale deployment and service models that realise benefits.

Day 1 | ZONE 2: Knowledge & Networking | 13:00 - 13:45
Protecting the Most Vulnerable: Fire Detection Requirement for Housing

There are many factors that increase fire risk in housing to above the norm, including complications arising from getting older or having some form of disability. This session explores how comprehensive LD1 fire detection systems, aligned with BS 5839-6 and NFCC recommendations, provide early warning and save lives. We’ll discuss the distinction between sheltered and supported housing, upgrading legacy systems, mitigating nuisance alarms, and linking detection to telecare monitoring services. Special focus will be given to inclusive solutions such as vibrating pads and visual alarms for deaf residents. Attendees will leave with a clearer strategy for specifying, upgrading and managing compliant, connected fire safety systems that truly protect vulnerable communities.
