Mark Wait Funeral Services is a proud independent business which provides a 24 hour flexible service for its clients in their time of need.

I have been providing a person centred service for nearly 40 years in the Newcastle, South Shields and surrounding areas. I hold a Diploma in Funeral Directing and am a member of the British Institute of Embalmers. My daughter Kelsey works alongside me and has over 10 years experience, she is also qualified and has the Certificate in Funeral Planning. We aim to provide you with the guidance and advice you will need in all aspects of dealing with arranging a funeral service for a loved
I decided to open my own business to enable me to provide the bespoke, respectful, personal service I feel is essential when supporting families at a difficult time in their lives. Kelsey joined the business 3 years ago and we work as a family team. We provide a full choice of funeral options, tailoring this to your requirements from a simple cremation/burial to a more modern bespoke ceremony with religious, non-religious or humanist celebrants. We are able to advise on memorial services and alternative options to the more traditional funerals ie woodland burials, outdoor services. We offer pre-paid funeral plans to enable people to arrange their own funeral, lessoning the stress on their family when the time arrives. It can be the little things that help.
Our grandsons team were struggling to get new strips for this season so we were only to happy to help by sponsoring them at Blyth Town football club. It’s the grass roots team work that helps the younger generation flourish.

Lest We Forget
Earlier this week we had the privilege of escorting a forces veteran on his final journey. His lovely family then offered his beautiful poppy floral tribute for our display. It has taken pride of place in our reception area.
On this Remembrance Sunday take a moment to remember all those we have lost in conflict fighting for freedom.

A beautiful set of cufflinks created by Kelsey for her dad Mark for Father’s Day last month from all of his children,with the ashes of both his Mam and Dad in. As you know Mark’s Mam died in May so it felt just right for this gift this year. He was so pleased with them and had worn them with pride.
