Denton Park Medical Group exists to provide high quality health care to its patients. It does this by professional development of team members and continuous evaluation of care to meet future challenges in a changing environment. We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness month. Every year more than 3,200 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer.
1 in 3 women don't attend their cervical screening (smear test). Over a third of these women don't attend as they are embarrassed about their body.
Our nurses are only concerned about your health so please don't let this be a barrier to you attending your test.
Cervical screening is the best way to detect and prevent cervical cancer. The test looks for the human papillomavirus (HPV), if this is present then the sample will be further checked for any abnormal cells which can then be removed at hospital.
If you are overdue your cervical screening, please contact the surgery to book your appointment.
