❤️ Know when to act
If someone collapses or isn’t breathing normally — call 999 and start CPR 🚨

🎄 A little knowledge goes a long way — first aid saves lives 💚

🩸 Cuts & knife injuries
Sharp knives + rushed prep = accidents 🔪

What to do 👇
➡️ Apply direct pressure to stop the bleeding
➡️ Clean the wound once bleeding has stopped
➡️ Cover with a sterile dressing or plaster to protect from infection

🚨 Get medical help if:
• Bleeding won’t stop
• The wound is deep, gaping, or caused by a dirty/rusty blade

💚 Stay safe in the kitchen this Christmas

🔥 Burns in the kitchen
Hot ovens, pans, and gravy spills are common at Christmas 🍗🔥
➡️ Cool burns under running water for 20 minutes

🎁 Choking hazards 🎁
Be extra careful with small toys, sweets, nuts, and decorations around children 👶⚠️

Treatment 👇
🔹 Encourage coughing if the child is coughing effectively
🔹 If choking is severe (cannot breathe, cough or speak):
➡️ 5 back blows between the shoulder blades
➡️ 5 abdominal thrusts (chest thrusts for infants under 1 year)
📞 call 999
🔹 Alternate back blows and thrusts until the object is removed

🚨 If they become unresponsive:

➡️ Start CPR

💚 Act quickly, stay calm — first aid saves lives
