But what I really want to know is, did you know that you’re periods can return even after menopause?

I went thru menopause at age 30. Years later, my periods made a return. Or at least that was what I thought. Apparently the gynaecologist said they were periods that were brought on by endometriosis.

When things happen gynaecology wise, make sure that you trust your gut and listen to it. Don’t take the first answer. You know your body better than anyone!! Fight for the answers you deserve.

What is the strangest thing that has happened to you gynaecology wise?

Wondering what I’m talking about?

Today hosted an amazing webinar to teach us as parents about NVR and it was AMAZING!!

One of the things that stood out was about a lady who had the mantra “be the lighthouse” to help get her thru those tough moments with her child. Why the lighthouse?

During those many moments in life when our children feel like the storm is swirling around them, that their world is full of chaos and noise and disruption, we can be that light, that helps guides them thru.

Our children need us to be their lighthouses to help them self-regulate. We need those lighthouses too. People we can look to be a light for us. YOU will be a lighthouse to someone who is watching you!!

So keep shining bright, keep being you and making sure that you’re taking time to do things that light you up so that you can keep shining bright for those around you.

How do you keep your light burning bright?

At times do you take a step back to really look at what you have and be thankful?

When I went thru menopause the first time, (yes the first time) it hit me emotionally like nothing I have ever known. I didn’t think that I could ever see a way forward where I could see a future of being with my family.

I felt they deserved better, that I wasn’t worthy enough of them, that by my not being in their lives, that their lives would be so much better.

That was compounded by a lot of other things going on my life with the people I had allowed to be in my life. This is kind of thinking needed to stop. 🛑

So I fought. Did I feel strong? Haha, no, I felt destroyed but deep within me I knew I had to fight. Fight my family, fight for my sanity and fight for my life. So I did.

Nearly 10 years later my emotions are much more in check and I have a good support network around me, as well as some amazing tools in my tool kit 🧰 to help.

If you’re ever feeling this way, please, please reach out. Find some good in each day. Even if right it seems like something minuscule. You’re not alone. You are loved. You are worthy!! You are more than enough!

Can you even guess??

Well, I do love a tuna melt, and one of my least fave jobs is to have to clean the toaster maker. Do you feel the same?

So this little gem 💎 made short work of it thankfully 😅. A few squirts and a quick wipe down and it was all clean. Abracadabra 🪄 Non toxic so no negative impact on your hormones. Ta-dah!! 🎉

Did you guess what I had used? And of course I was the lucky winner of an amazing Dad. Happy Father’s Day thank you for being you. 😍

Who do you want to give a shout-out to today?

So let’s talk hair!! 💇🏻‍♀️

I’ve always pretty much had the same hair style and length but occasionally I have had it shorter and when I went thru menopause (the first and second time, that’s right, I was that lucky 😂) ALOT fell out!!

Recently doing the school run one of the teachers said to me, “I can’t believe how fast your hair grows!! Anytime you get it cut, it just seems to grow back really quickly.” I did laugh and said it was down to my good shampoo and of course a little something called LLV 😍

Does your shampoo help to promote healthy hair and scalp? What is your fave shampoo and conditioner?

What the??!! Why had I never heard about this?!! Had you?

How to prepare for second puberty (whilst this isn’t the technical term, apparently it’s a term used for the time you go thru peri-menopause. Who knew?! 🤷🏻‍♀️)

While you can’t avoid the changes that come with aging, you can get ready for them.

The key is to practice healthy habits throughout life. This will help you prepare for these changes, both physically and mentally.

Examples of healthy habits include:

Staying active: 🤽🏻‍♀️ Exercising regularly throughout adulthood will help slow down bone and muscle loss. A routine that involves both cardio and strength training is best. 💪

Eating well: Consuming a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats is essential for healthy aging. 🍌 🍉 🍎

Managing chronic diseases: If you have a chronic condition, work with a doctor to manage it. This will prevent complications as you age. 👩‍⚕️

Attending regular health checkups: By regularly seeing a doctor, you can get appropriate guidance during each stage of life. This includes checkups with a primary care doctor and other specialists, like a gynecologist.

Had you heard of second puberty before?
