Recent moments and New Workshops.
🌿A few photos of late... Its been a busy end to the summer running workshops and displaying at shows. In doing so I've met so many curious, engaged and interesting people, which i have enjoyed endlessly. If you've been along to a workshop with me in the woods, thank you for joining!
🔥A highlight for me was a really fascinating conversation with a clever and curious young boy whilst demonstrating the friction fire. He was amazed at the black charred dust being produced, and keen to use it in his art.
🍂I am also launching the next series of workshops and courses running up to December. If you'd like to dip your toe in the world of traditional crafts and bushcraft nature skills you can check out the shorter, half day courses i run. Or if your keen to jump in there are full day workshops and also a weekend experience so do check out what's on offer. These workshops are a great way to connect to the natural world/family & friends.
🍃Learning a skill together outdoors and overcoming the challenges it offers nurtures bonds that you just dont get from modern entertainment. This type of connection, I think, is endangered and critically needed in todays world. Something people often say to me, is that they dont have the time and space to begin a new craft/interest. To this i find myself responding that, if there's an ounce of curiosity, follow it, atleast dip a toe, and if in doing so, you find a new, unearthed skill, a hobby, a community, maybe a reordering of prioritys can even take place. I often feel that my curiosity about life is the driving force to learning, its my teacher, if i am open to following it. For this im grateful, for being open to the adventure of trying, learning, failing, understanding, and broadening the world in which i live. Like this, every day is an adventure.
