🎉Newhall Surgery are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a 'Carer Friendly Quality Mark'.🎉

The Carer Friendly Quality Mark is a framework of quality markers designed to improve how GP practices identify and support carers.

The framework focuses on six key areas to better support carers:

▪️Identification and Registration: Proactively identifying carers and maintaining a dedicated register.
▪️Holistic Support: Addressing the health and wellbeing needs of the carer, not just the patient.
▪️In-Practice Support: Training staff (e.g., via a Carer Ambassador) to understand carer needs.
▪️Appointments and Access: Providing flexible or double appointments and offering flu vaccinations.
▪️Information and Communication: Ensuring carers are aware of support services.
▪️Culture: Promoting a "carer-friendly" environment.

This recognition reflects our commitment to identifying, supporting, and valuing unpaid carers in our community. Carers play a vital role, and we’re dedicated to ensuring they receive the understanding, flexibility, and support they deserve when accessing our services.

❗Bank Holiday Closure on 4 May 2026❗

Please note that the practice will be closed on Monday 4 May 2026 for the Early May Bank Holiday and will reopen at 8.00am on Tuesday 5 May 2026.

Should you require medical assistance during this time please visit your local walk-in centre or urgent care centre or call NHS 111.

Should you require urgent medical assistance please visit your local A&E department or call 999.

For non-urgent medical or administrative help, you can contact us using Rapid Health - https://newhall-consult.uk.rapidhealth.co.uk/...

This service allows you to tell us about your symptoms, ask questions, or request advice without needing to phone or attend the practice.

Your request will be reviewed by our clinical or administrative team. Submissions are reviewed during our normal working hours, and we will provide a response once your request has been assessed within one working day.

❗❗Staff Shortages/Sickness - Monday 27 April 2026 ❗️❗️

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have a high level of staff shortages today in our Care Navigation Team.

It may take longer to get through on our telephone line today, but we will answer your call, please could we ask you to bear with us.

We are doing our utmost to 'back fill' these shortages and hope to resume normal service as soon as possible.

You will be given an option to ask for a call back, please utilise this option if you are unable to wait and we will call you back as soon as we are able.

We realise our staff shortage situation is not ideal but we ask for your patience, support and understanding at this time.
