EXAM NERVES

As it is GCSE season coming up, you might have some very stressed and anxious teenagers. I have worked with many adults, teenagers and young people to help them with their exam nerves and to regulate their emotions

My Clients have updated me on their Exam nerves: 'YOU MIGHT NOT BELIEVE THIS BUT I FINALLY PASSED. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME FOCUS. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT. AMAZING. THANK YOU!'

This particular client had been trying to pass an industry exam, which was extremely important to their pending career promotion. They had previously taken this exam 4 times and had not been successful. This promotion was going to change the clients life both financially and also give them the opportunity to follow their dream job.

This client really took onboard what we did in our sessions, listened to the recordings and put in place good preparations. Now the clients can really live their life that they have always dreamed of.

I am so very fortunate to work with such amazing clients. If you are struggling more than usual. Then send me a message. I would love to help you.

LOOKING FOR GLIMMERS
The Small Moments That Support Your Mental Wellbeing

In a world that often feels busy, demanding and sometimes overwhelming, it’s easy for our minds to focus on stress, problems or what’s going wrong. But there’s something powerful we can train our brain to notice glimmers.

Glimmers are the small, positive moments in your day that spark a sense of calm, safety or joy. They might seem tiny, but they have a powerful impact on your mental health.

A glimmer could be:
• The warmth of sunlight on your face
• A kind message from a friend
• Your first sip of morning coffee
• A quiet moment of calm in a busy day
• Hearing a song you love

These small moments help signal to your nervous system that you are safe, present and supported. When we intentionally look for glimmers, we help our brain shift away from constant stress mode. Over time, this practice can:

• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Improve emotional resilience
• Support nervous system regulation
• Increase feelings of gratitude and wellbeing
• Help balance negative thinking patterns

🌿 A simple practice to try today “What were three glimmers I noticed today?”

They don’t have to be big. The magic is in noticing the small moments.

Because often, the smallest moments can have the biggest impact on our wellbeing.

💬 I’d love to hear from you what was a glimmer in your day today?

I have noticed glimmers already today,
-My morning coffee with 5 minutes of calm
-The blue sky
- Seeing all the world book day costumes!

Let me know what your glimmers are today in the comments below.

GRIEF

Today marks the 14th anniversary of my Mum's passing. I don't normally share a lot about my personal life, but I think it is good for you all to understand and know that even as a therapist we still have our own 'stuff' to deal with.

This makes us a better therapist as we can draw on our experiences, and this why I do this job today to help others through very tricky and tough times.

Grief hurts, but it can be helpful. The process of grieving often involves sadness, anger, loneliness, and other painful emotions. However, grieving can help you come to terms with loss and move forward in life, while still cherishing memories of your loved one.

Everyone grieves differently. Although others may have opinions about how to grieve correctly, your grief is yours and yours alone. Some people need to express their grief, while others prefer to process in silence. Some feel anger, while others feel sadness, numbness, or relief. Everyone has different reactions to loss, and different needs during the grieving process.

The circumstances of a loss have a major impact on grief. Deaths that are unexpected, traumatic, or stigmatized (e.g. su***de) can complicate the grieving process. Personal factors, such as a history of mental illness, or a strained relationship with the deceased, can also contribute to difficulties.

Grief does not have a set time frame. Grief can last for weeks, months, or years. It may come and go around holidays, anniversaries, and major life events, or it might always be in the background.

However, grief does tend to lessen in intensity over time.

It’s okay to seek help. Support from family and friends can prevent grief from growing out of control.

Although grief will improve over time for most, this isn’t always the case. When grief is especially debilitating or long-lasting, support groups, therapy, and other resources may be beneficial.

If you relate to this and need some help and support then please get in contact.

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED HOW MUCH YOUR THOUGHTS WEIGH?

THE WEIGHT OF THOUGHT - a sculpture by Thomas Leeroy

This sculpture shows how much we bog down our minds with heavy thoughts, past experiences, past situations that have been negative, past trauma. With filling our mind with all of these 'thoughts' they then start to creep into our current everyday lives.

The past is the past, we cannot change it. BUT we can change what our future looks like, what we choose to fill our mind with, we can choose to heal and accept and move forward.

I help many clients to move forward from past experiences, if this sounds like you, or anyone else you know. Then get in touch.

♦︎YOUR WILL POWER IS ONLY 5%♦︎

Did you know that your will to change, your WILL POWER comes from your conscious mind, which is only 5% of your total mind.
The urge to do the same old same, day in day out, (ie: your 'programming') comes from your subconscious mind, which makes up the other 95%

So you can 'will' yourself to change for as long as you can physically/emotionally/mentally handle it, then your willpower runs out, it's straight back to the good old subconscious programming.

Most of the programming in your subconscious has been there since childhood.

✳︎ This is because during childhood your mind is like a sponge, you are picking up all kinds of information from your environment that is helping you to understand life.

This information comes in consciously, then is stored subconsciously as 'BELIEFS' or 'PROGRAMMING' so that you can make room to store more things.

✓ Sometimes that programming is really helpful, like understanding social cues and remembering processes like tying your shoes.

✘ Other times it's less helpful, like believing your worth comes from your achievements, or that life has to be hard.

These beliefs, helpful or unhelpful, are shaping the way that you perceive life, influencing your thoughts and behaviour.

★ This is why hypnotherapy is such an amazing tool for personal growth, it allows us to connect directly with the subconscious mind to shift those beliefs and programming on a subconscious level.

If this resonates with you and you are interested in shifting limiting programming in your subconscious mind. Please get in touch. I would love to help.

STOP SMOKING

Is this something you are thinking about? I can help you!

How much have you spent in January on Ci******es, if you smoke a packet a day, say that is £13 per day. That would have cost you £403 for the month. I know some packets are more than this.

What would you do with an extra £400 per month?

Have you ever wanted to STOP SMOKING but didn't have enough will power? Have you tried many times and failed?

This client booked in for the 'EASY STOP SMOKING PROGRAMME' they desperately wanted to stop as it was really beginning to effect their health. They were suffering with constant chest infections, it was effecting their sleep at night, they were snoring, feeling fatigued and they were really struggling with their confidence and anxiety.

They were smoking at least a pack a day and it was costing them over £400 per month. Think what you could do with that money. This client was going to save up to go away on a nice holiday, and also use this money with everyday living costs.

This client had been smoking for over 30 years, they realised it was a nasty habit and it was not benefitting them or their loved ones.

This is what the client said.

'JUST THOUGHT I'D GIVE YOU AN UP DATE ......................

AM 100% A NON SMOKER

MY FRIENDS ARE FINDING IT STRANGER THAN I AM LOL. I'VE USED GUM FOR A FEW DAYS AND USED A PATCH FOR THE FIRST WEEKEND AND HAD ONE VERY REAL CRAVING WHEN STRESS LEVELS GOT SILLY HIGH BUT I DIDN'T TURN TO A CIGARETTE. I HAVE SO MUCH MORE TIME AND MY TIN IS RATHER HAPPY WITH THE AMOUNT OF £10 NOTES IT HAS IN IT ALREADY.

THANK YOU SO MUCH I'VE FOUND IT SO MUCH EASIER THAN EXPECTED.

PEOPLE'S REACTIONS ARE HILARIOUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN I SAID I HAD HYPNOTHERAPY, AMAZING HOW SCEPTICAL PEOPLE ARE.

ANYWAY, THANK YOU SO SO MUCH'

The 'EASY STOP SMOKING PROGRAMME' is one session with me. So if you want to save some money, save your health and STOP SMOKING I would love to help you.

Welcome to Simply Hypnotherapy

Hi I am Rachel, let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a very hard working Mummy to my gorgeous daughter Darcy. Having children really makes you reflect on life and put things into perspective. I had a bit of a reflection moment when I reached one of my milestone birthdays. I had been working in financial services for nearly 20 years, I felt like I was just existing and not really seeing the world for what it really was. I wanted to do something which I would get self satisfaction from and I really wanted to help people overcome their own personal challenges. Life is tough and pressured and many other things. I want to be the person that you feel you can come to, to help you through life’s everyday challenges. This is when I decided to have a complete career change and go back to the study books and this is how Simply Hypnotherapy was born.

I am a fully qualified hypnotherapist and I can help you overcome many concerns in a very comfortable, quiet and cosy environment. You can talk to me knowing that I will give you my full attention and we can work together to help you overcome whatever is troubling you. Please have a look a my page for a list of services that I can offer. If you cannot see what you are looking for then please contact me and I will be more than happy to discuss with you.
