The little magickal w**d
My life is so interesting, a story I shall tell,
People began to like me after 1800โs and all is still going well.
I start my day with positive photonasty,
And end my day with negative photonasty.
My existence is most successful and I have mastered survival worldwide,
I can keep freezing winds from the north away if you plant me at the north east side.
My natural power is deceiving in what I can move,
I can move the earth and support biodiversity which helps improve
The land with nutrients for the birds and bees
And I also loosen the soil for all the trees.
I am a biodynamic accumulator, so clever am I,
As I collect nutrients from deep in the soil as you walk by.
Some people look at me, some donโt,
Some people pick me, others wonโt.
I have lovely antioxidants to protect your health,
Vitamins A, C and K, minerals, iron and calcium, an abundance of wealth.
I am also known to be magickal by carrying your thoughts and dreams,
And wishes that come true, so it seems.
When you dream of me, your manifestations have been granted,
Now isnโt that something youโve always wanted ?
Did you know Theseus ate me for 30 days to fortify himself to fight the minotaur ?
My strength gives hope, resilience, joy and happiness and all from the sunโs power.
So now Iโm guessing you know who I am,
Yes thatโs right, I am โ Taraxacum โ.
My circle of life starts with a puffball of seeds,
And I have to wait for the wind to do its deed.
To blow all my seeds all over the land,
So I can grow, oh so grand.
With a beautiful yellow flower head as bright as the sun,
Which attracts all the buzzing bees to come.
And help themselves to my nectar and pollen,
A vital food for them which is never forgotten.
As the bees remember where the dandelions grow,
And thatโs the reason for me to repeat multiple times for my seeds to sow.
Its not only the bees that come to feed from me,
Butterflies, hoverflies and beetles are another three.
Oh and birds love to peck on my seeds too
Thatโs why I produce 200 seeds from my flower head, so I can also include you.
A little magickal fairy once told me โ You are the flower I love โ,
As your roots do their work under the ground and your leaves and flowers help above.
She told me to grow wherever I decide,
As there is no limits far and wide.
So little Dandelion, enjoy your travels, I wish you well,
And I am sure when I see you again, you will have more stories to tell.
