The weather is turning colder and flu season is on its way… so now is the perfect time to protect yourself from what can be a serious or life-threatening illness by getting vaccinated.

If you’re eligible, you will have been offered a flu and/ or COVID jab by the NHS. You can book your appointment with Pharmacy2Go using the national booking system, which you can find here: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/vaccination-and-booking-services/book-flu-vaccination/ Alternatively, keep a check on our social media feeds for any drop-in sessions which are taking place.

Our superintendent pharmacist Michael Lord said: “It’s really important that people who are at higher risk of getting seriously ill from flu or COVID take up the offer for a vaccine when they receive their invitation from the NHS.

“There’s still a chance you might get flu or COVID after having the vaccination, but if you do the illness is likely to be milder and won’t last as long.

“It’s also vital to make sure you have the vaccine every year. This is because the protection it provides reduces with time, while the type of flu viruses it protects against are updated each year.

“So please do get in touch today and help us to help you stay well this winter.”

Flu vaccines are available for those aged 65 or over (or who turn 65 before 1 April 2026) or are 18 or over and in a clinical risk group.
