I posted a few weeks ago about acts of kindness and how good they are for us...

Today I experienced one for myself and was really touched.

I had booked cinema tickets to see Tom Cruise and the latest Mission Impossible. Turned up at the Light Cinema Cambridge only to be told that I had booked for yesterday... well that was a surprise....

I was prepared to write the tickets off and buy replacements when the staff member said no need, they would transfer them to today. The supervisor then said the showing about to begin was an Imax version and that there would be no charge for the upgrade.

We were really pleasantly surprised given how company policies nowadays don't always feel customer friendly.

I understand the business decision.. nonetheless it felt like a very simple kind thing to do....
.. and LOVED the film

I say 'I live in Cambridge' and just sometimes I take notice of what that means..

A sunny Sunday, watching the people punting, the blossoms down the backs, studying the beautiful buildings representing a city built on learning and traditions.... and an ice cream from Jack's Gelato.

Let me share my joy in the simplest of life's pleasures....

Our neighbours are on holiday so we get to feed their chickens.

I get to take fruit and vegetables over twice a day. Turns out they love grass and sweetcorn, with those on offer everything else gets ignored.

I get to hear them chatting in anticipation as I walk up the garden and cluck with thanks.

I am inordinately pleased when they have left an egg.

I love eggs, so tomorrow morning I get to decide how to enjoy this for breakfast. I've done fried and had boiled eggs today.... maybe poached.

I have always been curious about having a faith, and the differences and similarities in each one.
I like to think that every faith offers love, acceptance, support and inclusion to a community who's shared beliefs bring their values together for good. Sadly, we know that this isn't always the case.
I choose not to believe in a God but I do marvel at life, nature, the beauty around us. I think regardless of holding a religion, I am spiritual in my way, I have various communities that I am a part of and I do indeed feel loved and supported.
This is a stained glass window of St Beuno and the resurrected St Winifred at her shrine in Holywell which is the start of a popular annual pilgrimage.
