I have a couple of spaces in my runners’ classes and Friday is always an open invitation 💌 So come to class this week and take whatever you need. You might be surprised.

I am absolutely loving the sunshine☀️so took my practice outside this morning to show some of the ways we make use of yoga bricks in my chair classes 🧱

These movements help maintain functional mobility to do tasks such as picking things up off the floor or reaching for the top shelf.

They keep your spine healthy, your joints lubricated and also build strength 💪🏻

It was great to practice with my wonderful friends at Newmarket Day Centre on Tuesday and I am looking forward to ending my week tomorrow with my fabulous, fun, friendly group (they really are all these things) at the Ellesmere Centre in Stetchworth. If you’d like to join us class runs from 1000 - 1045 and the cost is £7. Cash payment welcome. I’d love to see you 😊

In class this month we are building strength in key muscles - brick by brick 🧱

We spend much of our time moving in a forwards or backwards direction. This can cause the muscles responsible for sideways (lateral) movement to become weak. The spine needs to move in all directions to remain healthy🌀

In my yoga for runners’ classes we are flowing through some lateral movement. This helps strengthen our adductor and abductor muscles essential for runners to keep us strong, stable and powerful💥

I have a couple of spaces in class this week:

Not a runner? No problem! These sessions help you recover from the pace of modern life as I guide your nervous system into the “rest and digest” state. You may find that you sleep better afterwards 😴

Life lately has got me thinking about my self-worth. My own sense of value.

Today I received another job knock back so it feels timely to share my thoughts about how easy it is to start measuring our value by external factors:

The job we have (or don’t have).
The titles we hold.
The number of kudos or comments a run gets on Strava.

The pull for external validation seems to be everywhere including in the yoga world disconnecting us from the deeper purpose of yoga.
