What to Expect During the Procedure

Assessment:

A clinician examines your ear canal using a magnifier to determine the best removal method


Method 1: Microsuction: A small, specialized probe is inserted to gently suction out the wax while being viewed through a microscope. This is widely considered the safest and most effective method.

Method 2: Manual Removal: A specialist uses small, specialized tools (e.g., probes) to carefully remove the wax, often used for minor or soft wax cases.

Method 3: Irrigation: An electronic irrigator is used to flush out the ear canal with warm water, often used for deeper, harder blockages.

Comfort: The procedure is typically painless. However, during microsuction, a loud, "clarineting" noise can occur as debris is removed
