5 things I wish everyone knew as a Medical Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber 💉✨

1. You’re probably not wearing enough SPF.
You need a line the length of your finger for your face, another for your neck, and another for your chest. Anything less = less protection (and the increased speed of ageing & risk of pigmentation).
2. You can restart topical retinoids when breastfeeding.
Unlike pregnancy, most topical retinoids can be used again when breastfeeding.
3. Aftercare isn’t optional.
What you do after your treatment can directly impact your results (and your safety). Following advice properly is just as important as the treatment itself.
4. Pores don’t open and close.
They don’t have muscles! Over-exfoliating in an attempt to “shrink” them can actually irritate your skin and make them appear more visible.
5. Consistency > intensity.
Using your actives consistently (and correctly) will always give better results than overdoing it and damaging your skin barrier.

Good skin isn’t about doing the most… it’s about doing the right things consistently 🤍
