Don’t just be “gym strong”
It’s easy to forget the real reasons for strength training.
When training in a gym, it’s easy to get caught up in the milestones you can achieve—performing your first bodyweight push-up, squatting your bodyweight on a bar.
These accomplishments are brilliant and serve as great goals to focus on.
However, the strength you build in the gym needs to translate into everyday life.
It’s all well and good to be strong in the gym, but if you’re only “gym strong,” your training isn’t fully benefiting your life.
Train with the intention of feeling better both inside and outside the gym.
This could mean training to reduce back pain by strengthening your posterior muscles or improving your front squats to carry your children more comfortably.
Use your training as a way to get strong both inside and outside the gym.
