Can you believe that this is the same toe?
This patient came to us with a chronically ingrowing toe nail that desperately required nail surgery

We were lucky enough to see the toe fully healed (we usually only need to see patients for three redressing appointments!) so I had to take a photo for a before and after 🤩

From a car boot full of kit and a notebook of home visits… to three clinics across Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, a growing team of passionate Podiatrists, and hundreds of wonderful patients — I still have to pinch myself sometimes. 💙
This business started in 2016 as a one-woman domiciliary service. Just me, my tools, and a deep belief that great foot care should be personal, accessible, and built on trust.
Today, we’ve grown into a team of three, treating everything from routine foot care to complex MSK and running injuries, working with local running clubs, and helping people move with confidence every single day.

NAIL SURGERY
Here we have a toe fresh from nail surgery, this poor patient was suffering with an ingrowing toe nail at both edges for 6 months before coming to see us to have it permanently fixed!

CORNS - DO’S & DONT’S
Corns are a small patch of hard skin with a central core. They are often found on areas of pressure and can be very painful.
Do:
✅Wear shoes with cushioning and plenty of width.
✅File the top part of the corn to reduce/slow down build up
✅Use a urea based cream to keep the skin soft
✅See a Podiatrist to have the corn enucleated regularly!

Don’t:
❌Try to cut the corn out yourself
❌Think they will go away on their own
❌Wear tight or poorly fitted shoes
❌Use corn plasters!

MYXOID CYST
Myxoid cysts are not common things we tend to treat, but they are certainly very satisfying!

These benign cysts present as a small, round fluid-filled sac on the end joint of the toe.
They have a translucent appearance due to the synovial fluid in the sac which leaks from the joint and are usually associated with arthritis.

They tend to appear gradually and often do not cause any discomfort, but can become uncomfortable if they get large or rub on footwear.

We opted to drain this particular one as it was uncomfortable for the patient.

They have such friendly staff over there and a treadmill to hop onto to, so you can really get to know which shoe feels best 👟

I of course treated myself to a new pair of running trainers- just got to do the miles in them!

NEW NAIL
This lovely patient came to see us with a damaged big toe nail that they had spent years in discomfort with

We opted for a partial nail avulsion to remove the curved section and they now have a nail that perfectly matches the other one!

RETRONYCHIA
We seem to have had a few of these in clinic recently!

Unfortunately it was the common tale of countless antibiotics with no improvement.

Retronychia occurs when the base of the nail grows into the proximal nail fold.

It presents as a pain, redness, swelling and pus at the base of nail. There tends to be a history of repetitive micro trauma to the nail, so it can be common in athletes and avid walkers

We have therefore performed a total nail avulsion with no phenol to allow the new nail to grow through normally and resolve the issue

We recently carried out a home visit to this poor patient with very tender feet

As they were quite sensitive our lovely Chloe took her time and remained superficial when debriding; she will be returning to remove the remainder and to keep on top of the callosities
