Recently at Kingfisher House Care Home we got together for a lovely flower arranging session 🌸💜

With some music in the background, Barry got everyone up for a little dance while Jean and Sandra enjoyed a lovely chat as they sorted their blooms. Iris, Barbra, and Sylvia created some truly beautiful arrangements that everyone admired 😊

We finished off with a nice cup of tea, making it a relaxed and cheerful afternoon for all!

We had such a lively afternoon recently Kingfisher House Care Home with the wonderful Dave Parry performing at our home 🎸💜

Everyone got up and dancing, with Barry and Margaret leading the way and showing off their best moves. When some rock n roll tunes came on, Bill didn’t waste a moment, dancing along with Opal. Sandra was in her element too, putting her music knowledge to the test in Dave’s favourite game, Guess That Tune 🎶

We always love having Dave visit and we are already looking forward to the next time, hopefully with a sunny garden party to enjoy his music even more 😊

We recently had lovely little trip out with some of our gents at Kingfisher House Care Home as we headed to one of our favourite local spots, Cherrytree Newmarket 🍻

It was Brian’s first pub visit with us, and safe to say, it went down a treat. Over a pint, there were chats about horse racing, travel stories, and plenty of catching up with familiar faces from our local community. Of course, Cruise the dog also popped by to say hello and cheekily try his luck for a crisp (or two!)

Sometimes, a simple afternoon out in good company is all you need 💜

Happy 77th Birthday to our lovely friend, Buzz 🎉

With the sunshine making an appearance, we took the celebrations out into the garden here at Kingfisher House Care Home where our amazing residents enjoyed an afternoon of music, dancing and cake together 😊 Buzz had all of his favourite songs playing while everyone sang along and soaked up the sun.

A lovely afternoon spent celebrating a very special birthday with plenty of smiles all round 💜

Happy VE Day from everyone at Kingfisher House Care Home

We marked the occasion with a lovely garden party in the sunshine, spending the afternoon chatting, listening to stories and remembering some very special memories together 💜

Bill proudly wore his veterans badge and blazer as he shared photographs from his time serving in Borneo and Malaysia. Everyone listened so closely as he talked about his experiences and the friendships he made along the way. Albert was also proudly waving his Union Jack for all those who served.

It was so nice to see family joining us too, with Kathy spending the afternoon in the sun with her mum Janice, alongside Jean, Sandra, Mary and many of our lovely residents 😊

Our lovely ladies at Kingfisher House Care Home enjoyed a truly beautiful afternoon together, creating their own flower arrangements 🌸💜

There was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere as everyone chose colours, mixed blooms and put together their own unique bouquets. The room was filled with chat, laughter and plenty of “oohs” and “aahs” as the arrangements started to take shape 😊

The finished bouquets were absolutely stunning and are now brightening up bedrooms and shared spaces throughout the home. It’s amazing how something so simple can bring so much joy and colour to the day 🌼

A really special afternoon shared together, and so lovely to see everyone so proud of their creations.

On Wednesday, we had a truly special celebration at Kingfisher House Care Home as our lovely Sheila marked her 84th birthday 🎂💜

As a newer resident, it was so heartwarming to see Sheila celebrating surrounded by her new friends here at the home. There was a real sense of togetherness as everyone came along to wish her a happy birthday and share in her special day.

Sheila was absolutely full of joy throughout the celebrations, and the highlight for many was her beautiful birthday cake, lovingly made by our chef Karl. It looked wonderful and went down just as well 😊

A really lovely day filled with smiles, kindness and new friendships forming!

April didn’t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and that’s what made it so special 💜

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinson’s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St George’s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile 🏴

It’s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

A big thank you, as always, to our teams for everything they do to make those moments happen

Here’s a little look at April across our homes 📸

At Kingfisher House Care Home we made the most of the sunshine today and took our flower arranging out into the garden, surrounded by all our lovely blooms. It felt like one of those afternoons where everything just slows down a little 💜

Iris and Sylvia were in their element, carefully choosing their flowers, while Jean and Sandra sat side by side, chatting away and helping each other with their bouquets like they always do. There was lots of laughter and a few proud smiles as each arrangement came together.

We finished with a well earned cuppa and biscuits, with a bit of music playing in the background. A simple afternoon, but such a special one.

Do you enjoy a bit of flower arranging when the weather’s like this? 🌸

We had the most wonderful start to the week at Kingfisher House Care Home when the Newmarket Community Choir came to visit us 💜

The moment they began singing, the whole home felt brighter. There is something so special about live music filling the room and bringing everyone together in that shared moment of joy 🎶

They sang a lovely mix of favourites, including Iris’s much loved Delilah by Tom Jones, a bit of Elvis for Brian, and Cliff Richard for Priscilla. Bill could not resist getting up to dance, which had everyone smiling, and before long the room was full of singing and clapping along to Yellow Ribbon on the Old Oak Tree 😊

It was one of those afternoons that just lifts the spirit and stays with you long after the last song ends. We are already looking forward to welcoming the choir back again soon, and if the weather is kind, we are hoping to take the music out into the garden and enjoy it in the sunshine 🌿

Happy St George’s Day from all of us at Kingfisher House Care Home

We were so pleased to celebrate with the wonderful Frank Taylor the Entertainer , who always brings such a warm, happy feeling into our home. He sang plenty of favourites chosen by our lovely residents, from Doris Day classics to those much loved wartime songs that had everyone reminiscing and joining in

Before long, a bit of Elvis had people up on their feet, with Margaret especially enjoying her favourite rock and roll moments. Sandra and Jean were side by side singing along, while Isa shared the afternoon with her daughter Violet, making it all the more special 💜

We finished with some lovely England themed cupcakes and plenty of smiles all round. It really was one of those afternoons that stays with you.
