What a great event to be a part of. It was lovely catching up with some fellow Celebrants and the wonderful staff at HBC and Portland Funeral Directors, as well as chatting to many who attended.

Earlier in the week I conducted a Star Trek themed service for a loyal Trekkie. It was such a lovely service to be a part of. Luckily my husband is a Trekkie too, so I was able to incorporate props and wear the official Trekkie badge. As well as incorporating the famous Star Trek memorial speech into the service, at the Committal, I got everyone to join me in doing the Vulcan Salute and say ……… Live long and prosper, my old friend.......Live long and prosper…as their loved one made their way through the universe to the next life, as per their beliefs.

I also finished the service with another famous Star Trek quote.......
Seize the time... Live now!
Make now always the most precious time.
Now……. will never come again.

I felt these words were relevant for loved ones as they move forward in their grief.

I thank the family whole-heartedly, for allowing me the honour of putting together and being a part of such a special service.

Today I had the honour of conducting 2 very special services, for 2 very special individuals taken far, far too soon. The service this morning touched me emotionally in a way I have never experienced, as I could literally feel the love for the Inspirational lady I was talking about, beaming back at me. I want to give a special shout out to https://www.facebook.com/Rock.Choir.Lauren.McGarrigle/ the rock choir, who sang a beautiful rendition of A Thousand Years in the service, in honour of their choir member. It was so emotional but didn't take away from their performance in any way. You truly did your friend proud in every beautiful note. Also, the girls brother put together a lovely visual trbute, the most beautiful one I have ever seen. At the service this afternoon the young Mans sister also put together the most beautiful tribute which I read on her behalf and there wasn't a dry eye in the service room. I am blessed to have such a wonderful job and to be entrusted by so many amazing families with their loved ones services......... x both families truly did their loved ones proud today.....thank you for letting me be a part of it.
