H.W. Mason & Sons; a family-owned business established in c.1750.
In the early beginnings, the Mason family were builders and operated throughout the area. Today the company is run by its principal, Mr. Roy Mason who resides locally in Newport Pagnell, as did his ancestors for six generations. The funeral company was founded in 1932 by the late Mr. Percy Mason with one location – the original house and builder’s yard in Bury Street. This site has been in the family for almost 270 years and is still in use by our monumental team. The company head quarters later moved to 9 High Street from where all services are still coordinated.
However, with the development of Milton Keynes, a more focused approach to funerals was needed. Premises in Bletchley, Stony Stratford and Olney were acquired to better serve the whole area.
We pride ourselves on our team of highly respected and experienced members of staff, many of which have been working for H.W. Mason & Sons for decades. We offer a very personal and caring service tailored to your individual needs and will arrange and oversee every aspect of the funeral.
Members of staff are on-call to respond and assist families who have suffered a family loss outside normal working hours.
Something that we feel is most essential is that each of our premises is equipped with the most up-to-date temperature-controlled areas. What makes us unique to some funeral directors is that we do not use a ‘hub’. We have adequate individual spacing, in the locality of your choice in Milton Keynes, to ensure that the loved one in our care is resting in privacy. Because of these principles, our facilities are considered second to none and are recognised in the profession for being of an excellent standard.
Our services and facilities are constantly reviewed and modernised in order to maintain a high standard, although holding on to our traditional values remains greatly important to us.
