🌍 Celebrating Africa Day today with an amazing diverse team where everyone is welcomed, valued, and included. We are proud to work alongside excellent staff who lead with empathy, respect, kindness, and trust every single day. Our passion for what we do shines through the cultures we celebrate and the lessons we learn from one another. Today was filled with joy as we shared laughter, stories, and delicious African cuisine with our residents, friends and family making the celebration even more special. And don’t worry night staff… we have got you covered and your treats are waiting for you tonight! 🌍

A special thank you to our amazing International Staff Support and Inclusion Champions for helping us plan and deliver such a wonderful Africa Day celebration. What a beautiful day it has been here at Craighead today. ☀️🌿💦🧊🏡 May is suddenly looking hopeful with sunny mornings, a gentle breeze, and that perfect feeling of peace and relaxation. Just the right excuse to grab some sunshine, slow down, and enjoy a lovely Sunday outdoors. ☀️🌿💦🧊🏡 If you’re enjoying the warmer weather, remember to stay hydrated, wear sun cream, pop on a hat, and try to avoid the sun when it’s at its strongest during the middle of the day. Using paints and recycled materials, we transformed natural coconut shells into beautiful bird feeders 🎨 🫟🖌️ This engaging activity encouraged creativity while also supporting ideas of recycling, sustainability and zero waste living. It was a lovely way to combine art with nature, giving new life to organic materials and creating something both beautiful and useful 🎨 🫟🖌️ There was plenty of concentration, conversation and laughter as everyone enjoyed bringing their ideas to life and seeing their finished creations take shape 🎨 🫟🖌️A truly rewarding session that celebrates creativity, wellbeing and caring for the environment at Craighead Care Home.

There was plenty of friendly competition, laughter and concentration as everyone took their turn placing tiles and planning their next move. ⏳⏰Games like dominoes are a great way to keep the mind active, encourage social connection and bring out a little healthy competitive spirit 📝🧮It is always a joy to see residents engaged, chatting and enjoying time together while sharing skills, memories and plenty of smiles ☑️Simple moments like this make a big difference and bring so much happiness to our home.

You challenged our Scrabble champions to take the game up a notch and play right in the middle of the outdoors mid game 🌳🎲 🔠🆗
We said nae bather and here we are, come rain or sunshine, winning is the only option ☀️🌧️ 🔠🆗 Our amazing champions from Chesterhill, Tayfield and Forgan brought their A game and plenty of friendly rivalry to the table. Words were flying, laughter was flowing and the competition was fierce but always good spirited 🔤 🔠🆗

We celebrated John’s special day in style at Craighead Care Home surrounded by lots of love, laughter and wonderful company 🎂It was a lovely occasion with everyone here at Craighead helping to make the celebration extra special. 🔤 At Craighead Care Home we play to win 🔤 Our residents enjoyed another fantastic afternoon of friendly yet competitive Scrabble games and there was certainly plenty of determination around the table 😊🎲Scrabble is a wonderful way to keep the mind active while also having fun, socialising and sharing lots of laughter together. Games like this encourage concentration, memory, problem solving and creative thinking which are all so important for mental wellbeing and cognitive health 😊🎲 There is always great excitement as new words are discovered and scores begin to rise. A little healthy competition brings everyone together and creates such enjoyable moments for our residents 🏆 Keeping minds engaged while having fun is something we truly value at Craighead Care Home 😊🎲

Craighead Care Home hosted another stunning afternoon filled with the wonderful sounds of live jazz from the incredible Louisiana Fairy Tale Jazz Band 🎶Their outstanding performance captivated our audience from beginning to end, filling the room with joy, laughter, memories and plenty of toe tapping moments. Music has a unique way of bringing people together and creating happiness that everyone can feel 🎵 Music is therapy for the soul. It lifts spirits, encourages connection, sparks memories and brings comfort and relaxation to so many. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this special afternoon surrounded by great company and fantastic live entertainment ❤️ A huge thank you to Louisiana Fairy Tale Jazz Band for creating such a warm and unforgettable atmosphere for everyone at Craighead Care Home 🎺🎹🥁
