07932907149 Since an early age I have always maintained a fascination with the human body and the functions it is able to perform. This captivation alongside my passion for health, fitness and exercise has fuelled my desire to accomplish a career in sports therapy. Expanding on my passion for health, fitness and exercise, I have previously undertaken a degree in Sports Therapy (BSc Hons) at Teesside University where I was able to achieve a 1st class classification. Additionally during my time on the course I was also able to obtain over 150 hours of clinical experience working within both a clinical and team environment. I also gained experience volunteering at Middlesbrough Rugby club where I worked alongside the clubs physiotherapist. During my time there I was able to work with a vast age group ranging from the U10s to the 1st team. After completing my degree I further increased my practical skills and experience by volunteering at Redcar Athletic Fc for 6 months. During my time at the club I assisted the club physiotherapist on match days performing pitch side first aid. On match days I also performed injury assessments and offered a range of treatments such as sports massage, sports taping, peripheral joint and spinal mobilisations. I was also given the opportunity to administer and undertake rehabilitation sessions. I have also volunteered at Chelthenham Town FC performing a similar role within their academy set up. I am currently based at the All Sorts Hair and Beauty Salon In Newport and will be starting my sessions on Saturday 10th July. Bookings will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Last night at Darlington FC was brilliant! I really enjoyed supporting the players with their return-to-sport journey, focusing on strength, mobility, and movement patterns to get them safely back on the pitch. Seeing their progress session by session is so rewarding 💪. Helping players regain confidence, prevent injuries, and perform at their best is what makes physio so satisfying!

Last week I took on a challenge outside the clinic – climbing Mount Snowdon. ⛰️

I’ve always loved being outdoors and staying active, so reaching the summit was both rewarding and a reminder that resilience, preparation, and determination are key to achieving goals.

As a physiotherapist, I see these same qualities in patients on their rehab journeys – every step takes them closer to their own “summit.”

I am excited to announce that I have successfully completed my BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy at Teesside University. Over the past three years, I’ve gained valuable clinical experience across six placements, including MSK outpatients, surgical respiratory, digital MSK, stroke rehabilitation, MSK outpatients, and orthopedic inpatients. This journey has equipped me with a diverse skill set and a strong passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
I am now looking forward to the next steps in my career, where I can apply my skills and continue to learn and grow within the physiotherapy profession.

Finally had the chance to reflect on my last placement experience and what an incredible placement it was - such a valuable learning experience!

Highlights included:

Running my own patient caseload in the student-led MSK clinic

Shadowing First Contact Practitioners (FCPs) and Advanced MSK Practitioners, gaining insight into advanced assessment and decision-making

Developing confidence in assessing and managing a wide range of MSK conditions

Refining hands-on skills like joint mobilisations and exercise prescription

Learning from a knowledgeable, supportive multidisciplinary team

This placement really strengthened my clinical reasoning and confirmed how much I enjoy working in MSK. Grateful for the experience and excited to carry these skills forward into my future career.

Massive thank you to my educator and the team for all the support and guidance!

STROKE

Stroke is sadly the leading cause of disability worldwide and the second major cause for mortality! Remember the major signs and symptoms , as this can help increase the chances of recovery! Be FAST....

B. Be watchful for a sudden loss of balance.

E. Look out for sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes. Are they experiencing double vision?

F. Ask the person to smile. Look for a droop on one or both sides of their face, which is a sign of muscle weakness or paralysis.

A. A person having a stroke often has muscle weakness on one side. Ask them to raise their arms. If they have one-sided weakness (and didn’t have it before), one arm will stay higher while the other will sag and drop downward.

S. Strokes often cause a person to lose their ability to speak. They might slur their speech or have trouble choosing the right words.

T. Time is critical, so don’t wait to get help! If possible, look at your watch or a clock and remember when symptoms start. Telling a healthcare provider when symptoms started can help the provider know what treatment options are best for you.
